Sam Asghari reflects on life after divorce, says 'it was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sam Asghari has shared optimistic thoughts about his marriage following his separation from Britney Spears. The former couple, who began dating in 2017 before marrying in June 2022, parted their ways back in August, but the 29-year-old fitness trainer told People that he is grateful for their relationship. 

“It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” the actor said. Even though Asghari was the one who opted to file for divorce from Spears, 42, he added that he holds no grudge towards his ex-wife. In fact, he'd much rather celebrate their time together.

“I've always hated people leaving a certain relationship — and at some point they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food [together] — so I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other,” the actor said. 

“That's something I'm never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that's always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life,” he added.

Sam Asghari is preparing to celebrate his 30th birthday next month

Asghari is preparing to ring in his 30th birthday on March 3 and he’s focused on furthering his career and maintaining a “healthy lifestyle.”

“I used to think people that were 30 years old were so old when I was in high school. But every person I talk to, the older they get, the more they get to enjoy life because with age comes wisdom and experiences,” he said, adding “And I think experiences in life are beautiful, so that's something that I'm just super excited to just be fulfilled with.”

The owner of the Asghari Fitness further noted that his marriage and then his subsequent divorce from the legendary pop star added to his life experience. However, for now, the only woman in his life is his Doberman, Porsha.

“I always have the most positive mindset about life. My experiences in life have shaped me into the man I am today. I will continue growing. I come from a place where we celebrate our past,” he said, adding “I look back fondly. My past was a blessing and beautiful.”
