Sandra Bullock's daughter makes rare comment on her dating life after Bryan Randall's death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sandra Bullock revealed what her daughter said to her about dating again. The 'Practical Magic 2' star discussed her dating life on a podcast and shared what her daughter, Laila, had told her.
Bullock also admitted that her 12-year-old daughter has been encouraging her to start dating again. The actress opened up about her dating life three years after the death of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall.
For those unaware, Randall died in August 2023 at the age of 57 after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for three years.

During a podcast with Kylie Kelce on the 'Not Gonna Lie' podcast on Thursday, September 3, the 'Speed' actress shared that her children want her to start dating again.
"(Laila) said I needed to date, but only someone where they could get stuff," Bullock told Kelce, also referencing her 16-year-old son, Louis. "So I said, 'What, a rapper, a basketball player? That's the parameters?' She's like, 'Yeah.' I went, 'Oh.'"

Bullock shared that her children are not concerned about her career or Hollywood's dating standards. They "just care if you come back with stuff for them," she added.
"My job is craft service," she told Kelce. "That's what my job was (when they were little). A place that had extensive craft service."
"My kids are my everything, so if it doesn't work for them and my time with them, then I'm not doing it," the Oscar winner continued. "And I'm lucky. I'm lucky that I'm one of the moms that gets to be with her kids all the time. I have no desire to leave my kids."

Appearing on Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes' podcast 'SmartLess', Bullock recalled Randall's diagnosis as “traumatic.” She revealed on the podcast that Randall asked her not to share the news and requested that she not discuss his illness.
“I wasn’t allowed to speak about it. That was the request and I tried, I honored it,” she explained. “I started grieving Bryan four years before he passed,” she added, noting that he “was ill for half of our relationship.”
She also revealed that she had to keep his diagnosis private during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reflecting on the loss, Bullock said, “My person left a lot earlier than the body left.”
