SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS: Ramon Preciado, 53, found himself thrust into the spotlight after he snapped at reporters following his arrest along with his son, Christopher Preciado, 19, in connection to the horrifying double murder of pregnant Texas teen Savanah Soto, 18, and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, 22.
The father and son duo were arrested on Wednesday night, January 3, shedding light on a horrifying narrative of a "narcotics-related" deal that went bad.
Soto and Guerra were reported missing on December 22, just a day after being fatally shot in the head. Their lifeless bodies were discovered inside Guerra's Kia on December 26.
The tragic incident unfolded as Soto, nine months pregnant and scheduled for induction on December 23, met a horrifying end, allegedly over a marijuana deal gone awry, according to arrest affidavits, KENS reports.
Ramon Preciado heated exchange with reporters
Christopher now faces charges of capital murder, while his father, Ramon, is accused of abuse of a corpse and altering or destroying a human corpse. Both were apprehended by the San Antonio Police on Wednesday.
As Ramon was being arrested and placed into a police car, reporters bombarded him with questions about his involvement and any remorse he might feel for the situation. In a tense exchange, Ramon snapped back at the reporters, saying, “Aren't you sorry for lying about what you're saying? You don't even know what's going on. You just make stuff up like always."
What happened to Savannah Soto and Matthew Guerra?
Soto and Guerra were missing for five days before their bodies were discovered inside Guerra’s Kia Optima in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The 18-year-old was found dead in the front seat, clutching a baby seat, while the 22-year-old's body was in the backseat. Authorities suspect the couple was killed elsewhere before their bodies were moved to the dumped car.
Police allege that Christopher called his father to assist in relocating the bodies after the fatal shootings. Surveillance footage from December 21 showed a Chevy Silverado pulling up next to Guerra's Kia Optima in an apartment parking lot. The footage revealed a heavy-set man, believed to be involved in the incident, interacting with the person driving Guerra's vehicle.
The heavy-set man was seen wiping the outside of Guerra's driver's side door with a towel. Currently held at the Bexar County Jail, both Christopher and Ramon await further legal proceedings as the shocking details of this gruesome double murder continue to unfold.
