LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Dance Moms' alum JoJo Siwa is once more attracting widespread attention, this time for her daring fashion choice.

At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, April 1, the 20-year-old entertainment sensation made a striking entrance in a bold black ensemble.

Social media was abuzz with discontent as users swiftly expressed their dissatisfaction following her appearance on the red carpet. Siwa's choice of attire—a sheer jumpsuit adorned with bat-like embellishments on the arms, rhinestones, and mesh panels across her stomach—prompted mixed reactions among online commentators.

Alongside the critique of her daring outfit choice, the 20-year-old dancer faced trolling for her distinctive spiked black makeup framing her eyes and faux hawk hairstyle. 

Despite the jabs, it was revealed that she was donning a costume from her upcoming music video for 'Karma,' set to premiere on Friday, April 5. Siwa notably accepted an award on stage at the event while adorned in this distinctive ensemble.

The former cast member of 'Dance Moms' made her last appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2018. She has been vocal about the transition into a more mature phase of her career, expressing concern that it may be perceived as "disturbing" by her younger audience.

Responding to criticism surrounding her upcoming single, Siwa reflected on her long-standing experience with detractors, noting that she has been contending with negativity since her childhood.

"I think people forget that my whole life has been criticized and judged and watched. It’s not easy. It’s very tough. I’ve had a lot of people say really cruel things to me, but I have a really good bubble of people," she told Extra at the event.

She also added, that it is "really important" to her " to make art."  She said, "To make crazy visuals and crazy music and somebody used the word 'unrestrained' to describe it and I love it," she explained.

"Something that a lot of people have been saying is 'it's a rebrand, it's a rebrand, it's a rebrand. JoJo its a rebrand.' It's not a rebrand. Honestly, me and my team have never used the word rebrand. We've used the term 'launch.' We've used the term 'new JoJo.' But I think that's just something that I love. This is the art. This is where we are now."
