LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sources close to the Kardashian family suggest that Kourtney Kardashian may be creating a 'deeper divide' with the children she shares with ex Scott Disick, particularly their eldest son Mason.

Kourtney was heartbroken when 14-year-old Mason opted not to join her and her new husband, Travis Barker, on a family trip to Australia. In a recent episode of 'The Kardashians,' she confessed that his decision to stay home with his father instead of going on vacation 'made her really sad.'

Insiders are revealing 41-year-old Scott Disick's thoughts on the apparent rift between Mason and Kourtney Kardashian, who is 45, as per DailyMail.

They claim the reality star fears his ex is at risk of 'creating a deeper divide' with their children by excluding their father from family trips with her new partner, Travis Barker, 48.

“Scott knows that Mason didn't want to go on vacation with his mom because of Travis,” a source confirmed.

The source highlighted the previously strong bond between Kourtney and her children, whom she shared with Disick before she married Travis Barker. “Before Travis came along, Scott and Kourtney were vacationing together with the kids, not as a couple, but as friends who were both dedicated to their kids.”

The source added, "This is obviously not going to happen again and Scott thinks that Travis should not have a problem with family vacations if he was comfortable in his marriage. Heck, he could even come if he wanted to.”

“Instead of doing co-parenting the way that they used to, Scott believes that she is creating a deeper divide between herself and her kids with Scott,” the source revealed about Scott’s thoughts on Kourtney’s strained relationship with her children.

The source emphasized Kourtney’s bond with Mason, saying, “Mason is a classic example of this. He lives with his dad and Scott would gladly let any of his children live with him. It is a much more stable environment.”

Scott Disick’s bond with son Mason

Earlier this week, Scott highlighted his deep bond with Mason by sharing a photo of them traveling home from vacation together on a private jet, calling the teen his 'best friend for life.'

The photo gained added significance as it was posted shortly after Kourtney expressed her sadness over Mason's decision not to join her and Travis in Australia. Kourtney had traveled there with her and Scott's children, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 9, as well as their newborn, Rocky.

On the latest episode of 'The Kardashians,' which aired on Thursday, July 25, an awkward moment was captured between Mason and Kourtney.

The teen, Mason, seemed to avoid hugging his mom, despite her evident joy at seeing him. As she approached with a warm greeting of, "My son," and wrapped her arms around him, Mason kept his hands in his pockets and did not return the hug.

This reunion occurred shortly after Kourtney and her other children returned from Australia. In the episode, Kourtney shared, “I am in Australia, we made it. We’ve been having the best time. Travis is touring to different cities in Australia for about a week, but because I was on bedrest before, and then having a newborn at home, I haven’t really had any outings with my other kids, so really I wanted to stay in Sydney.”

Kourtney also mentioned that Mason was 'home with his dad, which makes me really sad, but I’m making the most of every second.'

In one scene, Kourtney asked her kids, “Do we love Australia?” Penelope nodded yes, while Reign responded with a casual, “Sure,” and an exaggerated wink.

In a confession, Kourtney admitted, “I’m starting to get a lot of vibes like his dad. I think he’s starting to get that sense of humor. I’m like, just what we need.”

Internet reacts to Scott Disick's take on rift between Kourtney Kardashian and Mason

Scott Disick's views on the estrangement between Kourtney and their eldest son Mason have sparked online discussions. Some users have criticized Travis, others have taken issue with Kourtney, while some have shared their perspectives on Mason’s feelings.

One user wrote,” I think the deep divide was her over-inflated ego, her break-up with Scott, her tunnel vision on Travis, her new baby that takes any remaining attention and him being a normal 14-year-old.”

Another said, “Courtney is boring and vulgar. So yea, she and Trav can go away.”

A third user asserted, “A 14 year old boy with a decent father should be raised by his father, not his mother.”

A fourth user shared, “Just consider travis is weak & insecure as a man needs to have the generosity when you enter this kind of relationship instead of giving the woman a hard time.”

Another expressed, “Boy wants to spend time with dad out of the limelight and not with mum. Smart kid.”

Another felt, “Taking the family vacations after the divorce was actually the problem. Gives the kids completely mixed signals. You’re either together or you’re not.”

A last user stated, “Teens are always doing this. Not all, but enough. Trying to play one parent against the other. No big deal Kourtney.”
