Authorities detain two sons of Diddy during the raids
On March 25, Justin and his brother King Combs were detained during a raid conducted at their father's Los Angeles property.
The ‘It's All About the Benjamins’ singer reportedly shares Justin with fashion designer Misa Hylton while King’s mother is model Kim Porter.
Homeland Security also reportedly raided Diddy’s Miami home before the 54-year-old record producer was questioned at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.
Authorities give no specific reason behind the raids
Following the raids, a statement by the authorities said, “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners.”
It also noted, “We will provide further information as it becomes available.”
Diddy’s lawyer blasts authorities
According to reports, Aaron Dyer, a lawyer representing Diddy, stated, "Yesterday, there was an excessive use of force resembling military tactics during the execution of search warrants at Mr. Combs' residences."
The attorney continued, “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.
“Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.”
Dyer also mentioned, “This unprecedented ambush – paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence – leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”
“There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name,” he asserted.
Diddy's other lawyer Shawn Holley also reportedly called out Jones and stated, "Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit, shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday."
Holley added, "His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines."
