WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News anchor Sean Hannity attempted to connect President Joe Biden’s policies to the recent 12% plunge in Japan’s Nikkei index during the first trading session of the week.

Global markets have been volatile lately, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 2.6% on Monday and major European indices also showing declines. However, the Nikkei suffered the most significant drop on Monday.

By Tuesday, Japan's benchmark index had mostly recovered, showing a 10% gain in the trading session. Sean Hannity commented on Monday night, “For the third straight trading day, stocks plummeting, collapsing amid fears of a global recession and rising unemployment while major industries are buckling under high interest rates.”

He noted that former president Donald Trump had blamed Vice President Kamala Harris for the market downturn, referring to it as the “KAMALA CRASH.” Trump suggested that the possibility of Harris becoming the next president is alarming investors.

Hannity continued, “And the hemorrhaging is not over. Japan’s stock market, they just posted their worst day since Black Monday from 1987. All of this being fueled by the very real fears that the Biden-Harris economy will spiral this country in a full-on recession in spite of all the proclamations of all the success of Bidenomics.”

He then aired a clip of Harris saying, “We are very proud of Bidenomics.”

According to Mediaite, In the US, unemployment ticked up to 4.3% last month, raising concerns that companies might reduce hiring.

In Japan, inflation is currently affecting the economy due to low interest rates, and some Bank of Japan board members have hinted at an earlier-than-expected rate hike. Generally, rising interest rates can negatively impact stock markets.

Internet mocks Sean Hannity

Sean Hannity's recent attempt to link President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to Japan's market turbulence has drawn widespread ridicule online.

One user wrote, "The same market just experienced it's biggest surge since 2008, so Biden and Harris deserve credit, right?"

Another user commented, "Because Harris is Stock Market Czar."

One user replied, "Nobody takes this clown seriously. 🤡"

Another added, "Sean, stick to punditry. You know nothing about the markets."

One user commented, "Of course Biden and Harris should be blamed for Tropical Storm Debby dumping all that rain in Florida too. Hannity needs a break. He's getting just a bit weird with his attempts at bashing Biden and Harris for his bad hair day and of course, dumping stocks in Japan."

One user replied, "When did Japan put Harris in charge of their stock market 🤔."

Another added, "He’s stupid he’s uneducated, and he lies for living, what do you expect?"
