LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez appeared utterly unimpressed when footage from her early days on 'Barney & Friends' was shown at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, February 23.
Host Kristen Bell joked about the actress' early days on the children's show prior to the show's clip flashing across the screen.
However, the 'Only Murders in the Building' actress, 32, appeared mortified by the revelation of her past history in front of her peers and millions of fans.
A throwback we didn’t know we needed… but we’re SO glad it happened! 😊

Selena Gomez left appalled by ‘Barney’ reference at 2025 SAG Awards
Selena Gomez began her acting career at the age of 10, appearing on 'Barney & Friends' from 2002 until 2004, per Daily Mail. Gomez was reminded of her time on the children's show during host Kristen Bell's opening act on the big screen.
During the show, Bell, 44, jokingly sang a version of the song 'Do You Want to Be a Snowman?' from her 'Frozen' character. However, she modified it to 'Do You Want to Be an Actress?'
"Speaking of disregulated emotions, this is a night to honor the actor’s journey, which is long and can be arduous and it leads you to the question: Do you wanna be an actor?" Bell said.
Bell continued to sing, "Let’s get your foot inside the door, can you scream a lot on Halloween," referring to Jamie Lee Curtis, who was seen screaming in the 1978 film 'Halloween' in a scene that opened the montage.

"Or be a beauty queen? Or hug a purple dinosaur?" she went on. Then a video of Gomez in 'Barney' as a child appeared on the screen.
The 'Emilia Perez' actress looked in embarrassment from her seat as Bell, making fun of Gomez, sang about cuddling a "purple dinosaur" while a video of her with Barney aired.
However, Gomez did not appear thrilled to be in the song when the cameras panned to her response. Her smile disappeared instantly, and she grimaced as she looked straight ahead.
Gomez merely smirked as the film rolled, nodding her head "no," until the mega-screen montage eventually went on to other performers in the room Bell would sing about.
Selena Gomez overwhelmed after 'Only Murders in the Building' SAG win
The Hollywood singer and actress appeared emotional as she and the cast of 'Only Murders in the Building' accepted a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award.
The 32-year-old attended the 31st ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday when her Disney+ production featuring comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Speaking to the audience, the 'Calm Down' singer addressed Short and Martin's absence from the ceremony. "Well, Marty and Steve aren't here because, you know, they don't really care," she said.
"But I don't know what to say. Thank you to Marty and Steve for helping raise me. I genuinely am just so grateful [to] everybody, the writers. Everyone deserves this, and I take it home for all of us," Gomez added, per Geo News.

Selena Gomez combines romantic details with classic Hollywood glitz on SAG red carpet
Selena Gomez wore a couture Celine gown that evoked the glitz and glitter of old Hollywood for the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Gomez's Celine dress had a dramatic side slit that ran up her leg, an off-the-shoulder neckline, and a wrap-style bodice with sculpted draping across the shoulders and bust.
The Rare Beauty founder wore her hair in a style that was reminiscent of earlier times, with the ends curled under and a sleek central section.

Gomez was styled by Erin Walsh, with whom she’s been collaborating since June 2023. Walsh is also renowned for styling Juno Temple and Anne Hathaway.
The outfit was accessorized with her marquise-shaped engagement ring from fiance Benny Blanco, black strappy sandals, and diamond drop earrings.
According to diamond specialists from UK store Steven Stone, the ring is expected to cost over $200,000, per WWD.
Gomez's most recent red carpet appearances featured outfits by Chanel, Rodarte, Elie Saab, Vera Wang, Alaia, and Saint Laurent.
