LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez found herself at the center of controversy after accidentally selling her diamond 'B' ring to multiple fans - despite the item being marketed as a limited edition piece.

The 32-year-old singer had been offering sentimental keepsakes (one being the 'B' ring) to her fans in celebration of her upcoming album 'I Said I Love You First', which she has collaborated on with her fiance, Benny Blanco.

Selena Gomez’s rare ring sparks confusion after fans receive refunds

The sale was a part of the singer's '12DaysofReallyRareStuff' initiation, as her Instagram post said, "Welcome to 12 days of Really Rare Stuff 💗 Stay tuned for updates and keep your eyes peeled, my fans will know where to look. I can’t believe we’re just 12 days away from the album! #12DaysofReallyRareStuff."

Among the cherished items put up for sale was a diamond ring that Gomez wore when she first announced her relationship with Blanco in December 2023, as per Daily Mail. According to reports, the ring cost her $3,250 but was listed for $12 as part of the initiative.

The excitement quickly turned to confusion when multiple fans realized they had each purchased what was supposed to be one-of-a-kind piece.

Buyers were later informed that a website error had occurred, and they would be fully refunded.

Understandably, fans were disappointed.

One supporter voiced their frustration, writing, "So no one got the ring, no one got the bag, no one got the sign and Selena doesn’t respond to no one. Someone explain me how this #12DaysofReallyRareStuff works cause."

In a separate post, the user continued: "I really thought we all won Selena Gomez B ring but my order got canceled. Attached to the upload was a screenshot of an alleged email from the Selena Gomez Shop apologizing for the error."

"Unfortunately there was an internal glitch on our UMG system which caused more units to sell than what was available, and the B Ring is a limited edition one of one item, We are so sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause," the screenshot read, continuing, "Due to the error we will be refunding your order. We apologize and as a make good will be sending you vinyl, a merch pack, a signed art card, and a CD box set."

A viewer expressed, "So did we all get it or was there a glitch."

Another viewer shared, "Not some of yall believing someone actually got the ring guys she's not selling it fr. It's a marketing thing. Yes u guys got the confirmation order, but will get a refund."

One viewer pointed out, "Besties i have bad news..no ring..but at the same time good news! shoutout to selena’s team for trying to make this right! #12DaysofReallyRareStuff."

A follower observed, "A 12-dollar ring? Selena what the heck!!! We thought it wasn't actually from Sheİn."

One comment stated, "I guess since she has the engagement ring now She doesn’t care about that one I thought she loved it I honestly didnt think she was gonna give it away."

Selena Gomez's 'really rare' ring was a symbol of relationship milestone

The ring had been listed for $12 and described as "really rare" on Gomez's website.

The description read, "Wrapped around my finger like a ring. For the first day of #12DaysOfReallyRareStuff, which is also a countdown to I Said I Love You First, it felt fitting to choose something that is a symbol of the start of our relationship. This is the exact, real ring that I posted to my Instagram story in December 2023."

Despite the mix-up, Gomez and Blanco's relationship continues to draw attention.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2024, following their relationship confirmation a year earlier in December 2023.

The two have reportedly been dating since June 2023.

In a recent feature with Interview Magazine, Gomez revealed she had provided input on her engagement ring's design.

"She showed me designs and I would always throw little hints," Blanco shared with the publication.

"I'd be like, 'Yeah, but if I ever made one, would you want it like this?' And then she changed her mind halfway through."

The ring Gomez ultimately received was a marquise-cut diamond, a style she has admired since her 2015 hit 'Good For You,' where she famously sang about being a "marquis diamond."
