LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez recently revealed that her "loser face" expression, which she practiced during an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', was inspired by a scene from Jennifer Aniston's 'Friends'.

She made the revelation on her Instagram Stories after fans speculated whether it was just a coincidence that Gomez's losing face was so similar to Rachel's (Aniston's character) in a scene from season 7 of the sitcom, per People.

Selena Gomez wrote over a clip that showed the similarities between her losing face and the one Rachel portrayed in Friends, "Facts. @jenniferaniston taught me too lol."

In season 7 of the show, Rachel works with Joey (Matt LeBlanc) to prepare him for the Soapy Awards, where he's been nominated. In the scene, she instructs Joey how he should act if he loses, and Gomez also tried to copy all of the character's mannerisms on the Tuesday, September 10 episode of Fallon's show.

In the scene, Rachel tells Joey he should "probably start practicing his gracious loser face" for when "the cameras are on you and you wanna look disappointed but also that your colleague deserved to win."

Gomez was nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in 'Only Murders in the Building'. She and other cast members were invited on the show where Fallon asked Gomez and her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin to practice their losing face expression.

Selena Gomez's love for 'Friends' and Aniston

Gomez has often been outspoken about her love of 'Friends' and her admiration of Aniston, who she has been friends with for many years.

When Aniston came in as a guest host of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' in 2020, Gomez revealed she grew up watching Friends "at 10:30 every night on Thursday with my mom and I cried when the whole season was over."

She told Aniston, "Rachel was my life", and the 'Friends' actress replied, "Selena, you've always been so sweet. You really are a genuine fan and it's amazing."

Selena Gomez spotted with a ring on her engagement finger at Emmys red carpet

Selena Gomez was seen wearing a ring on her engagement finger after rumors swirled last week that she and Benny Blanco were engaged, per The US Sun.

She wore a black gown with a crystal-encrusted halter neck, accompanied by some diamond earrings as the star was nominated for an acting Emmy.

The ring was one of the many Tiffany & Co pieces Gomez chose to wear. She also donned four other Tiffany & Co rings, along with a diamond cluster bracelet in platinum and a lock bangle in white gold.

In a September 9 interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez said the couple is in no rush and added, "We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules. I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself."
