LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selma Blair, known for her roles in various films and TV shows, including 'Cruel Intentions' and 'Anger Management,' delves into her life's challenges in her latest memoir, 'Mean Baby.'

In a candid interview, Blair shared intimate details about her lifelong struggles with pain, alcoholism, and her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Blair revealed that her relationship with alcohol began at a remarkably young age, with her first experience of being drunk occurring when she was only 7 years old.

Reflecting on her early encounters with alcohol, Blair expressed how it provided her with a sense of comfort, even at such a tender age.

Blair told Guthrie, "My first (time) drunk (was] when I was 7. I had my first drinks much younger."

Throughout her life, Blair grappled with physical pains, which she now wonders were early indicators of her MS diagnosis. Recalling her childhood ailments, Blair disclosed that doctors initially suspected leukemia due to her persistent high fevers.

However, it wasn't until she was 23 that she received a definitive MS diagnosis, despite experiencing symptoms for many years prior.

Blair writes in her memoir, "Doctors thought I had leukemia. I didn't, but it was a constant high fever. The ailments as a kid connected. I do know for sure I had it by the age of 23. It was definitely there for so long.”

Despite her tumultuous past with alcohol, Blair shared that she has been sober since a harrowing incident in 2016 when she lost consciousness on a plane while traveling with her young son.

Additionally, she has undergone chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant as part of her ongoing efforts to manage her MS.

Blair obtained a restraining order against her longtime boyfriend, Ron Carlson, following his arrest for domestic violence.

Carlson subsequently requested and was granted a restraining order against Blair in the aftermath of the incident, adding to the complexities of Blair's personal struggles.

Through her memoir and candid interviews, Selma Blair offers readers and viewers an intimate glimpse into her journey of resilience, sobriety, and navigating life with MS.
