Seth Meyers slammed for not asking George Clooney about Biden during interview: 'That's what cowards do'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Late Night' host Seth Meyers interviewed George Clooney on Monday, June 2, but avoided asking the actor anything related to former President Joe Biden.
This comes after CNN host Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson revealed in their book 'Original Sin' that the former POTUS allegedly failed to recognize Clooney backstage at a June 2024 fundraiser.
Seth Meyers avoids asking George Clooney questions about Joe Biden
During the Monday interview, the talk show host opted not to ask the veteran actor about the alleged incident from last year, or even mention the former president during the entire interview, according to Fox News.
Interestingly, a month after the alleged 2024 incident, the 'One Fine Day' actor wrote an opinion piece in The New York Times and called for Biden to be replaced as the Democratic nominee due to his declining mental acuity.

Clooney wrote, "It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big f***ing deal’ Biden of 2010."
"He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate," he added.
During the Monday interview, Meyers centered the conversation around Clooney's acting career and his recent Tony Award nomination for his play 'Good Night, and Good Luck', rather than asking him about the fundraising incident, according to Mediaite.

Interestingly, late night comedians Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert have not mentioned any of the revelations despite all the attention the new book has caused, per Fox News.
Regarding the 2024 fundraising incident, the authors, Tapper and Thompson, wrote in their book, "'You know George', the assisting aide told the President, gently reminding him who was in front of him. 'Yeah, yeah', the President said to one of the most recognizable men in the world, the host of this lucrative fund-raiser. 'Thank you for being here.'"

They went on to describe the entire incident in the book. They wrote, "'Hi, Mr President', Clooney said. 'How are ya?' the President replied.
'How was your trip?' Clooney asked. 'It was fine,' the President said. It seemed clear that the President had not recognized Clooney."
They further added, "'It was not OK,' recalled the Hollywood V.I.P. who had witnessed this moment. 'That thing, the moment where you recognize someone you know—especially a famous person who’s doing a f**king fund-raiser for you—it was delayed. It was uncomfortable.'"
