'Severe mental decline': Internet slams Joe Biden as he claims he is same age as Donald Trump
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden aimed a jibe at Donald Trump when asked about his age on the February 26 episode of 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', and later posted the clip from the show on X (formerly Twitter).
However, the tweet did little to win over internet for whom Biden's advancing age remains a major point of concern.
President Joe Biden's tweet
Taking to the social media platform from his personal account, Biden shared a clip from the talk show, where Meyers is seen asking him, "All jokes aside, according to recent polling, this (Biden's age) is a real concern for American voters. How do you address that concern going forward as you come up to the 2024 election?"
"Well, a couple of things," the President responds. "Number one, you gotta take a look at the other guy. He's about as old as I am, but he can't remember his wife's name."
Meyers agreed as the audience broke into cheers and applause.
"Number two," continued Biden, "It's about how old your ideas are. Look, I mean, this is a guy who wants to take us back. He wants to take us back on Roe v. Wade, he wants to take us back on a whole range of issues that are 50, 60 years, they've been solid American positions."
"And, I really mean this sincerely, I think it's about the future, and everything every single thing we've done, I think we've got some good things done. Everything, and they told us we couldn't get them done because things were so divided."
Biden wrote in his tweet, "The other guy and I are about the same age. The question in this election is: How old are your ideas? He wants to take us back 60 years. I’m focused on the future."

Internet reacts to Joe Biden's tweet
Internet users were far from convinced by the incumbent president, as the following tweets demonstrate.
"It’s not the mileage it’s the wear and tear," wrote a user. "Biden has severe mental decline and everyone can see that. Especially if you compare when he campaigned in 2020 versus now. And ultimately people wouldn’t even care about that if our border and economy were strong. But they’re not."

Biden has severe mental decline and everyone can see that.
Especially if you compare when he campaigned in 2020 versus now.
And ultimately people wouldn’t even care about that if our border and economy were strong.
But they’re not.
"The other guy didn’t forget when his son died or say that he talks to dead world leaders. It isn’t about age, it is about your mental capacity, which is clearly not there," attacked another.

"You’ve been in politics since the age of 10 and have done nothing to make life better for anyone," slammed a third.

"He wants to take us back 4 years...when inflation was 1.7%, gas was $1.79, there were no wars, Americans didn't have to work 2 jobs, mortgage rates weren't 7%," stated a fourth.
