LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a lighthearted turn of events on Late Night's Monday, February 26 episode, Seth Meyers found himself off the hook with President Joe Biden after a formal apology for his less-than-perfect impersonation of the commander-in-chief.

The unexpected appearance not only brought a forgiving response but also led to Meyers' removal from the mysterious "Dark Brandon" list.

According to The Guardian, Biden appeared on stage following the introduction of the scheduled guest, comedian and actor Amy Poehler, who recalled his previous appearance as vice president on Meyers's inaugural show.

Prompted by Poehler's remark that she could convince him to return, Biden made a surprise entry, jokingly questioning Meyers, "Why haven’t you invited me earlier?"

President Joe Biden graces the 10th anniversary special episode of 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'

As per The Wrap, in a TikTok clip posted on Monday night, Meyers was seen entering Biden's dressing room to express his regrets over the not-so-great impression, prompting a friendly and forgiving response from POTUS.

However, the real twist came after the late-night host left the room as Biden, donning his iconic aviators, made a call to ensure the comedian's name was struck off "the list."

For those unfamiliar, "Dark Brandon" is a parody of the POTUS, inspired by the anti-Biden slogan "Let's Go Brandon," which was enthusiastically adopted by the Biden campaign.

The surprise appearance by President Biden on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' was in celebration of the show's impressive 10th anniversary after its debut in 2014.

Notably, the late-night host's longtime 'Weekend Update' co-anchor, Poehler, was the first guest to be interviewed on the show, which returned for its 11th season in October 2023 after the resolution of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.

Joe Biden talks about Taylor Swift and what it's like to be the oldest-ever US president

On the Monday show, Meyers wanted to know if Biden was in cahoots with Taylor Swift, as he asked, "Can you confirm or deny that there is an active conspiracy between you and Miss Swift?" hinting at the Super Bowl LVIII conspiracy theories

"Where are you getting this information, it’s classified," jokingly replied the POTUS as he reminded the host that the pop star endorsed him for president in 2020. He reiterated the confidentiality of the information when Meyers inquired if the 'Lover' singer would support him for his reelection bid.

When asked about being the oldest-ever US president at 81, Biden noted, "You got to take a look at the other guy, he’s about as old as I am, but he can’t remember his wife’s name."

The POTUS was likely taking a dig at Donald Trump's gaffe at the Conservative Political Action Conference when he referred to his wife, Melania Trump, as "Mercedes," as per The Guardian.
