LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sharna Burgess has hit back at "ridiculous" claims regarding her and fiance Brian Austin Green's parenting choices, particularly criticisms suggesting she is "forcing" their children to defy gender stereotypes, as reported by Page Six.

During a candid discussion on the 'Between Us Moms' podcast, the former 'Dancing With the Stars' pro addressed rumors circulating about their 2-year-old son Zane, stemming from comments about his appearance.

"We already get media articles like I’m forcing Zane to be a girl because I haven’t cut his hair yet," Burgess, 39, explained, blasting the absurdity of the claim.

Burgess, who shares Zane with Green, also spoke out against broader accusations that Green’s other children from his previous relationship with Megan Fox - Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 8, are being "forced to be girls." Green also shares son Kassius, 21, with ex Vanessa Marcil.

The criticism has emerged primarily due to the couple’s decision to embrace their children's choices, such as Noah wearing dresses.

“The attention is just not healthy for our kids," Burgess said, explaining why she and Green prefer to keep their family life away from the spotlight. “It’s certainly not Brian’s style either.”

Burgess added, "Should they choose to be in this industry because they love an art form that has them in the public eye, then we address that.”

The dancer also took the opportunity to express her desire to protect her family’s privacy, calling their home and family life “sacred.” Despite the negativity on social media, she noted that her children have a “beautiful” and supportive community, and they don’t face issues like bullying at school.

Her comments come a year after Green’s ex, Megan Fox, faced similar criticism regarding their son Noah's clothing choices. At the time, Fox had called out the "insecure, narcissistic, impotent" critics, while Green firmly defended their family against the baseless claims.

Green and Burgess, who made their relationship Instagram-official in 2021, welcomed Zane in June 2022. They recently got engaged in July 2023 at Green’s 50th birthday party. Meanwhile, Fox, Green's ex-wife, remains connected to her on-again, off-again relationship with Machine Gun Kelly, despite ending their engagement earlier this year.

Sharna Burgess’ response to gender influence claims ignites social media buzz

Sharna Burgess' recent comments addressing claims that she and fiance Brian Austin Green are “forcing” their children to defy gender norms have sparked a flurry of reactions across social media platforms.

After the 'Dancing with the Stars' alum defended her decision not to cut her 2-year-old son Zane’s hair and criticized accusations suggesting that they were pushing Green's children to "be girls," social media lit up with a mix of opinions.

One user wrote, "Their mother is Megan Fox. If anyone is encouraging them to be pretty, it's her. Nothing wrong with it either." Another user responded, "They’ve been dressing like girls before her."

Many users referenced Green's ex-wife, Megan Fox, who has been open about her sons' choices, particularly regarding their wardrobe. "Their mother Megan Fox dressed them in Girls DRESSES," one user commented.

Others defended the idea that long hair or non-traditional clothing doesn't necessarily indicate forced behavior. "Long hair on boys is ok, the rest seems suspect," one user wrote. Another added, "Boys can have long hair, but I do believe it was Megan who was pushing/allowing them to wear dresses when her and Brian were still together….soooo yeah."
