NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Conservative influencer Shawn Farash claimed that Democrats’ reported push to restrict Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity at polling locations is tantamount to admitting that undocumented immigrants are voting in US elections.

The claim came at the time of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act heading to the Senate.

In a video commentary circulating online, Farash argued that if non-citizens are not participating in elections, then there should be no objection to immigration enforcement at voting sites.

Democrats make admission about 'illegal aliens': Shawn Farash

“The left, I think, might have made an admission here that illegal aliens are indeed voting in our elections,” Farash said.

He continued: “The Democrats are trying to ban immigration enforcement in some very specific locations- at any place of worship, at a hospital, at a school but now they’re adding one more sensitive location: our polling places.”

Questioning the rationale, Farash said: “If illegal aliens aren’t voting in our elections, then why does it matter if Immigration and Customs Enforcement is enforcing immigration law at polling places?"

"Because you’re telling me that those who are violating immigration law aren’t showing up to polling places. So it shouldn’t matter.”

“This to me, right here, is an admission,” he said.

“They’re saying, ‘Yeah, all right, you’re right, illegals are voting in elections, and we don’t want them to get caught, so we’re adding polling places as a safe zone, a sanctuary zone, for illegal aliens, so you can’t arrest anybody who’s in the country illegally at a polling place.’”

Farash further asked: “What is somebody who’s in the country illegally doing at a polling place in the first place?”

“The left wants ICE to stay away from polling places because they know that illegal aliens are voting in elections,” he concluded.

Debate over the SAVE Act intensifies

Farash’s remarks come amid renewed Republican support for the SAVE Act, legislation that would require documentary proof of US citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.

Supporters argue the measure is necessary to safeguard election integrity, while critics maintain that federal law already prohibits non-citizens from voting and that instances of non-citizen voting are rare.

Voting rights groups even claim that the SAVE America Act can disenfranchise millions of Americans if passed.

The issue of immigration enforcement at so-called “sensitive locations,” including schools, hospitals and places of worship, has long been debated.

The addition of polling places to that discussion has further intensified partisan divides over election security and immigration policy.
