Sherri Shepherd pokes fun at Jaden Smith’s Grammy look, recreates his $4,600 castle headpiece for just $5
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sherri Shepherd did not hold back when addressing Jaden Smith’s bold fashion statement at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
The 26-year-old actor and musician arrived at the event wearing a striking Louis Vuitton suit paired with an elaborate castle-shaped headpiece designed by Transylvanian fashion brand Abodi.
Sherri Shepherd mocks Jaden Smith's Grammy look
Sherri Shepherd took the opportunity to poke fun at the look during the Monday, February 3, episode of her talk show.
“Will Smith’s son Jaden wore a really nice Louis Vuitton suit and a castle on his head,” Shepherd quipped as an image of the outfit appeared behind her.
“Jaden is walking around the Grammys the whole time with a whole zip code on his head!” she said.
Shepherd, seemingly baffled by the fashion house behind the design, joked about the origins of Abodi.
“I didn’t even know they had fashion designers in Transylvania, first of all. I thought they only had vampires, werewolves, and Frankensteins,” she said.
“I didn’t even know Transylvania was a real place, I swear to [God],” she added.
Sherri Shepherd’s budget-friendly castle hat recreation
While Sherri Shepherd found Jaden Smith’s choice amusing, she also took inspiration from it.
Launching into her popular fashion segment 'Wear It Up or Tear It Up', she surprised the audience by appearing with a near-identical headpiece atop her head—one that cost significantly less than Smith’s original.
“Now, let me tell y’all something: Jaden’s castle hat cost $4,600,” Shepherd revealed, prompting gasps from the audience.
“But my amazing art director Michael Lee Scott got some construction paper, glitter, and glue, and he made the same castle hat for $4.99,” she added.
As the audience laughed, Shepherd stood up and twirled onstage, proudly showing off her budget-friendly recreation.
“Wear it up?” she asked, as the crowd cheered.
“I don’t know, but I’m telling you: I’m feeling quite homey in here,” she said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In response to the attention surrounding the headpiece, Abodi later took to Instagram, explaining that Jaden Smith’s headpiece was custom-made for the event.
"Jaden Smith wore ABODI's iconic "Vampire Castle" sculptural headpiece. We custom made the castle for his red carpet appearance at the Grammy Awards," they wrote.

They described the artistic vision as a blend of “the mysterious elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori.”
