WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump lashed out at 'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Trump didn’t hold back, calling Griffin a “fraud” and highlighting her past promise to wear a MAGA hat on 'The View' if hostages in Gaza were released, a remark now resurfacing amid growing conservative pressure.

Hamas released 20 Israeli hostages on October 7, 2023, as part of the first phase of Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan.

Trump took a question from Brian Glenn, a pro-MAGA reporter, who praised him for helping to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Glenn then brought up a past comment from 'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, regarding wearing a MAGA hat.

Trump criticized Griffin, who once worked in his administration as a communications official. He said she used to praise him in letters, calling him a great president and thanking him for his leadership.

According to Trump, those letters show how much she changed after joining 'The View.' He claimed she switched sides for money and called both Griffin and the show “frauds.”

“She sent me the most beautiful letters,” Trump said. “When, you know, the administration, time came up. The election was rigged. I left. She gave me the most beautiful letter you have ever seen. I was a great president. What a great job. Some of the letter’s been quoted. This is Alyssa, who I never thought she was very outstanding.”

He added, "I figured she would not make it. And she didn’t have a big role here either. Then we had January 6th, and she left after that or before that. But she gave me the most beautiful letters. And then, months after she left, while we weren’t here any longer, she sent another letter, a glowing letter, beautiful letter."

He emphasized, "And then, she got hired by 'The View', they gave her a couple of bucks, and she changed her view very quickly. I never thought she’d make it. I never thought she had what it took in any way." President Trump declared, "I think she's a joke."

Alyssa Griffin’s promise to Trump resurfaces

Earlier this year, Griffin said she would wear a MAGA hat on the show and thank Trump if Israeli hostages in Gaza were released. Now that some hostages have been freed, the clip of her comment has gone viral among conservatives, including Trump’s son, who are asking when she’ll keep her promise.

Griffin’s original promise in January was, “If he does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out — I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say, ‘Thank you for doing it.’”

President’s son Donald Trump Jr posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, October 13, sharing a clip from 'The View' with the caption, “Sending this to the top. Let’s go."

As part of the same phase of the ceasefire deal, Israel released hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in a swap agreement. The freed Israeli hostages included Matan Zangauker, Maxim Herkin, Segev Kalfon, Yosef-Chaim Ohana, Nimrod Cohen, Avinatan Or, Evyatar David, Eitan Horn, David Cunio, Ariel Cunio, Elkana Bohbot, Bar Kupershtein, and Rom Braslavski.
