'She’s such a joke': Internet abuzz as John Mayer denies ‘hookup’ with Scheana Shay after she drops hints

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Internet is abuzz with opinions after guitarist John Mayer denied 'hookup' with 'Vanderpump Rules' reality TV star Scheana Shay.

Shay, 38, in Tuesday's episode of the show, dropped hints she was involved in an orgy with Mayer, 46. She did not name him but the hints were clear. 

John Mayer is annoyed at Scheana Shay's orgy claims

Sources close to Mayer told US Sun that the singer has never been involved with Shay and has nothing to with her.

“John has told several people close to him that he never hooked up with Scheana,” an insider told the outlet.

“He knows that she has been telling people they hooked up well before the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ episode aired and it’s gotten back to him,” the source added. “He’s very annoyed by the entire thing and wants nothing to do with her.”

The source claimed Mayer did “his best to avoid” her when they attended the same party recently where Andy Cohen was also present.

When she tried her best to talk to Mayer and even approached him for a picture, Mayer "shot her down," the source said adding that he tried to avoid her all night. 

Shay hinted earlier this month that she was once in an orgy with the Grammy winner during a game of 'Never Have I Ever' with her castmates. “It was with an A-list celebrity,” she claimed according to New York Post.

Though she didn’t name the person in question when asked when was she involved in an orgy, she quipped, “Once upon a time, my body was a wonderland,” referring to Mayer's most hit song.

According to US Sun, Scheana's husband, Brock Davies, who stars in the same show, took a drink and confessed, "I wasn't involved! I was in a room and there were other things going on, but there were definitely more bodies."

Internet calls Scheana Shay a 'joke' following John Mayer hook-up claims 

Internet said John Mayer was not getting into the "nonsense" while calling Shay a "joke" who should have kept the story to herself. However, some questioned why she would lie with all the fame, while others termed her an "attention seeker." 

"He doesn't want to get looped into her nonsense. Dying to know what Andy C thinks," an individual wrote on X.

"If anything I think HES denying it! He doesn’t want to be linked in anyway to these people," one more wrote, adding, "Probably not on brand for him. But why would she lie? What would the purpose be? She’s already on tv! She has attention coming from every aspect in her life! Why lie?!"

Another tweet read, "Had a feeling we would hear from him", and a different user added, "Yeahhh she probably should’ve kept her story to herself"

Some called her an "attention-seeking character" while one wrote, "She’s such a joke. It seemed like maybe she changed after having a child but that’s a big fat NO!"

One more wrote. "She has zero self-awareness. That deer in the headlight look when she’s caught in a lie!"
