LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift has outdone the iconic Elvis Presley, setting a new record as the solo artist with the most number of weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200.
This achievement coincides with the launch of her most recent album, '1989 (Taylor's Version)', as announced by Billboard this Sunday, December 31.

Swift has enjoyed 68 weeks at the pinnacle of the Billboard 200, surpassing Presley, who held the No 1 spot for 67 weeks across his 10 albums from 1956 to 2002.

Swift's cumulative weeks at No 1 on the Billboard 200, spanning all her 13 hit releases, have now reached a total of 68 weeks.
This achievement surpasses Elvis Presley's record of 67 weeks at No 1, which he accomplished with 10 top-charting albums from 1956 to 2002.
Swift now holds the record for the most weeks at No. 1 by a solo artist. However, The Beatles still hold the overall record with 132 weeks at No 1, achieved across 19 chart-topping albums from 1964 to 2001, per Billboard.
Swift’s journey to the top of the Billboard 200 began with her first No 1 album, 'Fearless', which reigned for 11 weeks in late 2008 and early 2009.
This was followed by a series of chart-topping albums: 'Speak Now' (six weeks at No 1, 2010-11), 'Red' (seven weeks, 2012-13), '1989' (11 weeks, 2014-15), 'Reputation' (four weeks, 2017-18), 'Lover' (one week, 2019), 'Folklore' (eight weeks, 2020-21), 'Evermore' (four weeks, 2020-21), 'Fearless (Taylor’s Version)' (two weeks, 2021), 'Red (Taylor’s Version)' (one week, 2021), 'Midnights' (six weeks, 2022-23), 'Speak Now' (Taylor’s Version) (two weeks, 2023), and '1989 (Taylor’s Version)' (five weeks, 2023-24).
