Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town ultimately died from addiction
According to Crazy Town manager Howie Hubberman, the 'Butterfly' hitmaker overdosed on a "combination of prescription drugs and street purchased drugs."
Hubberman told People on Friday, June 28, "Seth Binzer, after struggling with addiction and Crazy Town's rapid success with Butterfly, never was able to reach out on a more successful level to deal with his addictions."
"We all tried, but ultimately we all failed, or Shifty would still be here," he added.
Hubberman added, "The cause of death was a combination of prescription drugs and street purchased drugs. Shifty was a friend and really wanted to get himself fixed – unfortunately no one had the exact tools to do this, myself included."

While toxicology findings are being returned, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet declared a cause of death for Binzer.
Throughout his career, Binzer had been transparent about his struggles with substance and had been on the VH1 shows 'Sober House' and 'Celebrity Rehab.'
He was detained in 2012 on suspicion of violence and narcotics possession, per a TMZ story at the time. A decade later, Binzer was also detained on suspicion of DUI, per Variety.
Final days of Shifty Shellshock in rent-by-the-night room revealed
On Monday, June 24, the frontman of Crazy Town was found dead inside a flophouse in Los Angeles. The popular 'Butterfly' singer was reportedly renting a modest 60-square-foot apartment in Koreatown, per Radar Online.
Tenant of the room next door to Binzer's, Jason Roberts, asserted that the Crazy Town singer had only moved into the building a week before his tragic overdose death.
Roberts further stated that Binzer had been battling with his fiancee in the days preceding his overdose death and that once the police were involved, he was compelled to move into the small Koreatown room for rent by the night.
Roberts said of Binzer, "He said he was having problems with his girlfriend or whatever and that's why he was here. He said he had been fighting with her and the cops were going to that house. He had to get away."

The neighbor further stated that in the days preceding Binzer's overdose death, he observed multiple ladies entering and leaving his apartment.
Regarding Binzer's death, Roberts claimed that the singer was already "gone and dead" when the police officers reached the location. The building's property manager reportedly found Binzer's lifeless body.
Following the discovery of drug paraphernalia at the site, including a lighter, injectable medicine, and Narcan nasal spray, it was previously assumed that Binzer's tragic death was the result of a drug overdose.
