Shirley MacLaine thinks she’ll ‘come back’ after death as insiders reveal her ghastly last wish
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood icon Shirley MacLaine believes her life on earth will not end with her death.
As per Radar Online, MacLaine believes she will be reincarnated, and insiders claim her eerie last wish is to play a "witch"!
Shirley MacLaine always wanted to play a witch
Shirley MacLaine has long been regarded as one of Hollywood's most spiritual superstars. Insiders have revealed that despite being 90 years old, she still heavily practices bizarre rituals.
Sources close to the 'Steel Magnolias' star reported that strange rituals and white magic spells play a significant role in her life, so the role of a witch would suit the Hollywood veteran.
They claimed MacLaine's on-screen persona when she portrayed Samantha's mother Endora in the 2005 film 'Bewitched', quite resembles her off-screen persona.
When MacLaine was asked why she took up that role, she said in an interview, “I wanted to play a witch. I loved the idea. Since everyone else thinks I’m one, too."
A source said, "She makes jokes that people think she's a real-life witch and gets a kick out of it. To her, it's a compliment!"
"She does dabble in white magic – and she sees nothing wrong with spells provided it's done with good intentions and improves her life," the source added.
Shirley MacLaine 'doesn't fear death' and believes in reincarnation
Shirley MacLaine has been transparent about her views on reincarnation and spirituality throughout the years.
In her book 'Dancing in the Light,' MacLaine describes her spiritual beliefs and is not afraid to assert that she had past lives.
According to MacLaine, she has lived as an ambiguous creature in the pre-Atlantis times, a harem girl at a pasha's house in Turkey, an entertainment in Isfahan, and a gypsy in the Spanish hills, per Closer via Yahoo! Entertainment.
"She's been very open about having had a past life and she certainly doesn't fear death, as she'll come back as someone else," a source said.
The insider continued, "Death is just a transformation to Shirley. She is well known among her Hollywood peers for her keen interest in mysticism and reincarnation – in fact, she may have started the New Age movement."
"She'll also help others get rid of pesky problems. She can look into a person's eyes and see all kinds of things. And she's just as committed to that lifestyle as ever at the ripe old age of 90," they added.
"Each of us has had multiple experiences in past lifetimes that equip our souls with memories and intuitions that can't be explained any other way," MacLaine stated in her 2011 book, 'I'm Over All That: and Other Confessions'.
MacLaine said in 2019 that she is researching what it means to be human. "That’s why I’m so interested in UFOs and other civilizations. They’re there! So what can we learn from them?" she exclaimed at the time.
She said, "Sometimes I’ve (been mocked), especially my discussions about UFOs and reincarnation. But, okay, let’s discuss it. The more we discuss it, the less grounds for humiliation it serves."
Shirley MacLaine attributes her longevity to dancing
Revealing the surprising key to her long life, Shirley MacLaine, who turned 90 on April 24, told People that her background in dancing has played a significant role in her being in the finest shape of her life.
"I started my dance training at age three and stopped at about 67. It taught me discipline, loving music, working with people and dealing with pain," the actress, who began her career on Broadway before becoming well-known in Hollywood, admitted.
MacLaine likewise maintains a grateful attitude toward life. She's appreciative "that I can keep working".
"I have my friends and I am really healthy," she added.
