According to a source close to the couple, their supposed familial connection to the 'Gone Girl' star is “absolutely not true,” as reported by People.

“So Zac Affleck is her husband. [His father] is David Affleck. Zac’s grandfather is Gordon Affleck. Zac’s great-grandparents — which would [establish] second cousins — his name is Alan Burt Affleck.”

On Ben Affleck’s side, his great-grandparent is Myron Senior, but no familial ties exist between Alan Burt and Myron Senior, refuting any direct connection between the two families.

“Then Ben’s dad is Tim Affleck. His grandfather is Myron Junior. His great-grandparent is Myron Senior. No, Alan Burt and Myron Senior aren’t brothers or anything.”

Jen Affleck, who had previously claimed her husband was a second cousin of Ben and Casey Affleck, even poked fun at the connection on TikTok.

In a video posted after Ben’s marriage to Jennifer Lopez, Jen joked about sharing the same first name as Lopez, captioning a video with, "When you thought you were going to be the next JLO, but instead, she stole your name."

Despite these lighthearted claims, Jen admitted that neither she nor Zac had ever met Ben Affleck, although Zac’s father reportedly met the actor when he was a child.
