‘Sloppy drunk’: Internet trolls Taylor Swift after she calls herself a functioning alcoholic in 'TTPD' song ‘Fortnight’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 14-time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift released her most anticipated 11th studio album 'The Tortured Poets Department' on Friday, April 19 and Internet has already started with the lyrics breakdown of her new songs from album per NY Post.
Swift dropped 17 tracks at midnight Friday, April 19 and then surprised fans with an extra 15 by making it a secret double album.

Swift didn’t waste any of her time getting personal on the first single, 'Fortnight.' She calls herself a 'functioning alcoholic'. Lyrics of the song say, "I was supposed to be sent away/ But they forgot to come and get me,” adding, "I was a functioning alcoholic ’til nobody noticed my new aesthetic.”
"All my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February/ I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary,” she goes on. “And I love you, it’s ruining my life/ I love you, it’s ruining my life.”
However, it's still unknown if Swift was just taking creative liberties with her songwriting with the lyrics or she meant with what she wrote.
The 34-year-old pop sensation cut out alcohol before she embarked on her Eras Tour, which she kicked off following her split from ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

"I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot,” Swift told as per NY post.
Swift added, "Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud. Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs."
"Then I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones. I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought, " she said.
She drank only once while on tour, at the 2023 Grammy Awards, when she was seen on camera dancing and singing along to Demi Lovato's performance. About that Swift said, “Doing that show with a hangover, I don’t want to know that world."
The 'Midnights' singer has since been photographed on multiple occasions with a drink in hand, notably while attending boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs football games, celebrating his Super Bowl win and while traveling with him in Bahamas last month.

Several social media users trolled the singer for setting a not so good influence on her teen fans. A user wrote on Instagram, "not so good model for all the little girls!!"

Another user said, "Her fan base can't even drink legally yet hahaha." A user said, "This is why all her bfs kept leaving her." While a user even called her a "sloppy drunk."
