WASHINGTON, D.C: Snoop Dogg, 53, has broken his silence regarding the backlash he faced after performing at a celebration during Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In a video shared on Instagram, the rapper made it clear that he remains unbothered by the criticism, choosing to respond with positivity instead of engaging in negativity, as reported by People.

“For all the hate, I’m going to answer with love,” Snoop said in the clip, filmed from his car.

Taking a hit from what appeared to be a blunt, he continued, “Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100% Black. All out ’til you ball out or ’til you fall out.”

The 'Drop It Like It’s Hot' artist made these comments just days after discussing the controversy on the 'R&B Money Podcast'.

Reflecting on the public outcry, Snoop explained, "You ‘gon deal with hate when you get to the top, no matter who you are… Me, personally, I answer it with success and love. That’s my answer to any hate and negativity that comes my way, ’cause it’s the strongest force that can beat it."

Snoop’s appearance at the Crypto Ball in Washington, DC, on January 17, alongside Rick Ross and Soulja Boy, drew criticism from some of his fans, particularly in light of his past statements about Trump.

The rapper had been vocal about his disapproval of the former president and his administration, once accusing Trump of sowing division across racial and socioeconomic lines.

In a heated 2018 interview on DJ Suss One’s 'SiriusXM' show, Snoop called out Trump supporters, saying, “If you like that man, you’re racist. F**k you, and f**k him.” He further criticized Trump for “drawing lines” between communities, claiming that the president's actions created tension that hadn’t existed before.

Snoop also took aim at Kanye West, who publicly supported Trump at the time. “Kanye too,” he said. “F**k him too. He’s with them.”

Snoop Dogg's decision to perform at the 2025 Trump inauguration sparked significant controversy, with fans divided over his actions. While some defended him, others expressed feelings of betrayal and disappointment, particularly within the Black community.

One user wrote, "He can be 100% Black & 100% a sellout, simultaneously. Such a let-down. Snoop has been a cultural icon for years. He went to Paris and won over the world. And then with this mindless move, he lost half of the country and most Black folks in one fell swoop!" while another user wrote, "Snoop is an equal opportunity sellout. He will do anything for a dollar. Most of us get that. No one is mad at Snoop he's just doing his thing."

Others shared similar sentiments, with another commenting, "I've never been so sad or felt so betrayed...or felt so lied to...as I was when I read Snoop was performing at this inauguration."

One wrote, "He is probably just trying to pay his bills like the rest of us. And I think if he really cared what people thought he wouldn’t have done it." Another added, "Hypocrite and disappointment."

"No one was questioning his Race! We were questioning the lack of character, to be 2 faced, regarding his posting last year," a user wrote.
