WASHINGTON, DC: Rap legend Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has recently upset off a huge chunk of his fanbase.

The rapper hit the stage at the inaugural Crypto Ball in Washington, DC, a high-profile event celebrating President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration, which has made some of his fans unhappy.

Snoop Dogg's transition from Donald Trump critic to Crypto Ball-headliner

Snoop Dogg, who was once a Donald Trump critic, belted out his iconic hit 'Nuthin’ but a G Thang' at the black-tie Crypto Ball hosted by former PayPal COO and incoming White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks.

This has, however, upset the rapper's fans who are Trump critics.

Snoop Dogg had been one of Trump’s harshest critics. In 2017, when the rapper dropped the music video for 'Lavender', he pointed a gun at a Trump-like clown and pulled the trigger—albeit the gun only released a cartoonish 'BANG' flag. That had left Trump fuming, with the then-president suggesting Snoop should be arrested.

The rapper even doubled down later that year with his track 'Make America Crip Again', taking a dig at Trump’s slogan. “The president said he wants to make America great again. F**k that s**t, we’re going to make America Crip again,” he rapped, the Independent reported.

Snoop Dogg fans outraged as he performs at Donald Trump inaugural event

Snoop Dogg appears to have flipped the script in 2024, singing Donald Trump’s praises and saying he “has done only great things” for him. This latest Crypto Ball performance, however, seems to be the final straw for many fans.

When footage of the rapper vibing at the event made the rounds on social media, the backlash was rather swift and brutal.

"SNOOP DOGG IS PLAYING FOR THE CHEETO?! This is actually devastating. I’m so damn bummed," one social media user posted on X.

"Even Snoop Dogg bent the knee to Donald Trump. Never thought I’d see that. His crip walks will never be the same," another user wrote.

"It's time to throw @SnoopDogg in the dumpster with the rest of Trump's white supremacist, insurrectionist allies," one person insisted.

"I have deleted all Snoop Dogg songs from my playlists... I have blocked him from my accounts. I will not listen to his music after I found out that he will be there to perform for the traitors on Monday," read another comment.

"I never thought I’d have Snoop Dogg being a Trump supporter on my bingo card…. But here we are. What a f**king disappointment," someone else fumed.

"2pac always was right about Snoop Dogg, he always playing both sides for a check and some clout smh," another added.

Snoop Dogg’s unbothered clapback and more about Crypto Ball

As the internet raged, Snoop Dogg didn’t miss a beat. Hours after the drama erupted, he reposted an Instagram story from Rick Ross who also performed at the Crypto Ball, declaring, “Got a real Crip up in the Crypto Ball, bang bang.”

The rapper, with his sunglasses on and peace signs flashing, looked anything but fazed in the footage. He seemed to bask in the chaos as he grooved to Bob Marley’s 'Three Little Birds', singing along, “Don’t worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing gonna be all right.”

The Crypto Ball itself was as flashy as it gets. Tickets cost a jaw-dropping $2,500 to $5,000, giving attendees the chance to mingle with tech moguls and cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

The event billed Trump as “the first crypto president” despite his rocky history with Bitcoin—he once dismissed it as “a scam against the dollar.”

Joining Snoop Dogg on stage were Soulja Boy, Nelly, and Rick Ross, making for a star-studded lineup.

The hip-hop legend even posed for a photo with MAGA supporter Bo Loudon, sporting a red “Make America Great Again” hat.

“President Trump is unifying the country and will bring us into the GOLDEN AGE! Welcome to MAGA, Snoop!” Loudon captioned the photo.
