FORT WASHINGTON, MARYLAND: During his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday, February 24, the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, exuded confidence in his political standing after a sweeping 20-point margin victory over GOP rival Nikki Haley in the South Carolina Republican primary.

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman asserted that if the votes were accurately tallied back in the 2020 presidential elections, he would have emerged as the victor in California, the state that traditionally leans Democratic, according to BAHA Breaking News.

Despite previous electoral defeat, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee emphasized his common-sense appeal, which he believes is a crucial factor in his potential success in California in the upcoming general election in November.

Trump expressed optimism about his prospects ahead of his rematch against President Joe Biden, citing his widespread support in the Golden State.

What did Donald Trump say during his speech at CPAC?

The former President took to the CPAC stage in Maryland on Saturday evening and claimed that people in thousands thronged his speaking event when he visited California.

“Frankly, I believe I gave a speech up there. We had like 100,000 people show up. I said, what the hell is going on over here?” Trump remarked.

“I always hear Republicans can't win California. You can't win,” he continued. “I will tell you, if God came down and God was the vote checker, I believe we would win California. I think it's so crazy.”

The GOP presidential frontrunner alleged, “They send out 36 million ballots, get sent out to people unknown. They're sent out all over the place. How many people from California know people that get six, seven, eight ballots? Okay.”

“Our elections are so corrupt. I think we do very well. I think I would do very well in California, actually,” Trump added. “And I think I would do well in a lot of places because it's common sense, remember, not conservative.”

“It's common sense. I'm conservative, but the words are common sense,” he reiterated.

He followed it up by going on an invective against the current Biden administration.

Trump decried, “Our country is run by people that are destroying it. We're not going to let it happen again.”
