LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sofia Vergara had to return from the Emmy Awards empty-handed once again, however, her reaction was anything but despair or anger.

The 52-year-old actress lost to her competitor for the fifth time at the 2024 Emmy Awards, where she was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in 'Griselda'.

Nevertheless, Vergara brushed off her loss to 'True Detective: Night Country' star Jodie Foster with a joke.

In a hilarious video posted on her Instagram handle on Sunday, September 15, the Columbian-American actress quipped to a friend off-camera that she was robbed of the award again.

"Me lo robaron … por quinta vez," Vergara said in Spanish, which, according to Us Weekly, meant, "They stole it from me … for the fifth time."

Sofia Vergara would rather enjoy a burger than cry over an Emmy loss

Sofia Vergara played the titular role of Griselda Blanco in the biographical crime drama about a Columbian drug lord. The Netflix series was met with critical acclaim upon its premiere in January.

Despite her not winning the award, actor John Leguizamo gave a shoutout to her and other Emmy nominees from underrepresented groups.

Vergara, however, hardly paid attention to her being robbed of an Emmy and instead enjoyed a burger.

A candid video shared on her Instagram account showed the actress eating a burger at the Emmys after-party by Netflix. "I didn’t get an Emmy but I got a hamburger," wrote the 'Modern Family' star in the caption.

Sofia Vergara's previous Emmy Award nominations

Sofia Vergara previously received Primetime Emmy nominations for playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the hit sitcom 'Modern Family'. From 2010 to 2013, she received four consecutive nominations in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series.

While she may not have won an Emmy, she did reunite with her 'Modern Family' co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson at the award ceremony.

Julie Bowen, who acted alongside Vergara in 'Modern Family' for eleven seasons, recently disclosed a gift she received from her longtime co-actor.

In a recent interview on E! News, the actress said, "We are absolutely, completely different. I like to wear the baggiest, grossest underwear and show them to her, and she’s like, ‘Please, why are you wearing that?'"

Bowen added, "She used to leave little thong underwear for me in my trailer, and I was like, ‘What is this? What is this tiny scrap of fabric?’ Because she wants me to be more of a woman."
