Internet divided after Elon Musk slams Robert De Niro for his anti-Donald Trump tirade
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk is seemingly not pleased with Robert De Niro's recent remarks on former president Donald Trump.
The tech mogul called out the Hollywood icon on his social media platform Friday, May 3, after De Niro compared the 77-year-old to infamous dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
While replying to the 'Taxi Driver' actor's statements from MSNBC’s '11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle', Musk said Trump’s policies "bore no resemblance" to those of both dictators and declared that the actor’s hate comments on Trump "makes no sense."

Musk felt that he needed to speak out on the issue once the clip hit X. He replied, "Well, Trump was actually already president for 4 years and his policies bore no resemblance to those of Hitler, so this makes no sense."
He also pointed out an example of Trump’s policies that the twentieth-century dictators wouldn’t have pursued, stating, "In fact, with the Abraham Accords, he made some progress towards peace in the Middle East, which was definitely not high on Hitler’s agenda."

What did Robert De Niro say about Donald Trump?
De Niro called Trump a "a sick person," a "narcissistic," a "monster," and a "stupid bully" during an appearance on the show. Besides, he went on to express concern about Trump returning to the White House, claiming that he doesn't think people "understand how dangerous it will be if he ever [returns]."
The actor continued, "Historically, from what I see, even in Nazi Germany, they had it with Hitler. They don’t take him seriously. 'He looks like a clown. Acts like a clown.' Mussolini. Same thing. These guys, I don’t know why they look like clowns."
"Look what happened with France, and with the Nazis and so on... As a kid, I said 'Hitler, it’s a nightmare that never would happen.' But now I see that it’s possible" he added, per Fox News. What's ironic is that the 80-year-old actor said in the same interview that he "was tired of calling [Trump] names."
Robert De Niro also previously compared Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler
The 'Heat' actor also drew the same comparison in a 2019 interview with The Guardian, where he gave nearly identical statements to his most recent ones.
At the time, he said, "They laughed at Hitler. They all look funny. Hitler looked funny, Mussolini looked funny and other dictators and despots look funny." De Niro launched an anti-Trump tirade last month on Bill Maher's talk show and said the ex-president's supporters want "to f**k with people."
"He's such a mean, nasty, hateful person. I'd never play him as an actor, because I can't see any good in him. Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing redeemable in him," De Niro said, per Daily Mail.
Maher asked De Niro for his thoughts on Trump's lead in the election polls, saying, "So, why is Trump winning? What do you attribute that to?"
The 68-year-old host added, "I mean, the poll the New York Times poll this week came out, and maybe this will change it with the state of the Union address. But Trump was beating him rather soundly. It was quite a warning light, 48 to 43, also winning way more among women - women! - than he had before winning outright Latinos."
De Niro simply responded with, "I don't know," before reflecting on Trump's victory in 2016 and sounding the alarm on his potential new term.
De Niro didn't stop there, as he continued, "He’s a sociopathic, psychopathic, malignant narcissist. He is a dangerous person. We have two people. We have a lot of people, this audience. But the people who somehow think he’s going to be the answer to their prayers, whatever those are."
Robert De Niro and his never-ending hate for Donald Trump
The Academy Award winner has been extremely critical of the former president, with the most prominent incident occurring in 2018 when he exclaimed "f**k Trump" twice on stage at the Tony Awards. He received a full standing ovation as he said, "It's no longer 'down with Trump,' it's f**k Trump."
De Niro claimed on stage at the Gotham Awards in November last year that he had originally planned to include several harsh remarks on Trump but his speech was cut short. He said, "I just want to say one thing. The beginning of my speech was edited, cut out, and I didn’t know about it. And I want to read it."
However, he still went back and said, "The former President lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office. And he’s keeping up the pace in his current campaign of retribution."
"But in all his lies, he can’t hide his soul. He attacks the weak, destroys the gifts of nature and shows disrespect by, for example, using Pocahontas as a slur," continued De Niro.
