Stephen Colbert shares the one thing Trump might be right about in Taylor Swift controversy
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of his late-night show, Stephen Colbert humorously explored the wild world of right-wing conspiracy theories involving pop sensation Taylor Swift.
Colbert, joining other late-night hosts, couldn't resist poking fun at the claims suggesting Swift is part of a conspiracy to thwart Donald Trump's potential success in the 2024 presidential election.

Colbert roasts Trump's claims and takes a swipe at endorsement speculation
According to Independent, Colbert, with his signature wit, addressed Trump's assertion that he is "more popular" than Swift, stating, "That is insane. Can you imagine Trump selling out stadiums in Tokyo?" He playfully slipped into a Trump impersonation, adding, "If that’s not ridiculous enough, he’s also claiming that he has ‘more committed fans’ than Taylor does. Well, to be fair, in the last three years, about 500 of his fans have been committed to jail."
The late-night host also took a humorous jab at the idea of Swift endorsing Joe Biden, suggesting it might be "beneath the dignity of the office" for the singer. "C’mon Joe, seeking the endorsement of a pop star? Don’t you think that’s beneath the dignity of the office of Taylor Swift. She has to have standards!" Colbert quipped.
Taylor Swift becomes MAGA's unlikely focus
With reports circulating that Trump and his allies are anxious about Joe Biden seeking an endorsement from Taylor Swift, Colbert remarked, "The Maga mob is now turning their focus to their leader’s last remaining political rival: Taylor Swift." He highlighted Swift's impactful endorsement of Biden in 2020, noting that a single Instagram post from her led to an impressive 35,000 new voter registrations.
Colbert didn't shy away from addressing right-wing conspiracy theorists, including figures like Vivek Ramaswamy and Jack Posobiec, who baselessly claim that Swift is involved in a government psy-op. These figures also suggest that Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce is part of a politically motivated strategy, despite her regular attendance at his Kansas City Chiefs matches.
Mike Crispi's Super Bowl speculation and Swift's potential political role
Colbert referenced a claim by Rumble host Mike Crispi, who suggested that Swift might appear during the Super Bowl's Halftime Show to announce her endorsement of Biden.
While Swift has not endorsed any candidate in this election cycle, reports have emerged that Biden's aides are keen on securing her as a campaign surrogate due to her significant cultural influence. As Colbert cleverly put it, "That would be fun. I wonder what era he’d dress as? I’m gonna guess Mesozoic."
