WASHINGTON, DC: White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller responded sharply on Monday, October 6, after Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked his height during a Sunday livestream, turning the exchange into a broader critique of the congresswoman and her impact on her own party.

Miller, who stands 5 ft 10 in tall, addressed the jab on Fox News' 'The Ingraham Angle', after the Democratic firebrand encouraged her followers to “laugh at” him, calling him a “clown” and ridiculing his stature.

Stephen Miller calls AOC a 'walking nightmare'

“Well, we knew that her brain didn’t work. Now we know their eyes don’t work. I mean, she’s just a mess, right? What a train wreck,” Stephen Miller told host Laura Ingraham. The deputy chief of staff emphasized that he is taller than suggested, and downplayed the attempt to belittle him, framing the attack as emblematic of her broader ineffectiveness.

“I think the important point is that every time she’s on TV, Republican approval ratings go up. Democrat approval ratings go down. That lady is a walking nightmare,” Miller added, portraying Ocasio-Cortez as a liability to her party.

Context of AOC's attack

Speaking during a livestream on Instagram on Sunday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez specifically targeted Stephen Miller. "The point is that they are scraping and grasping at straws because they have nothing else. Laugh at them, Stephen Miller is a clown!" she said.

She added, "I've never seen that guy in real life, but he looks like he's, like, [4 feet, 10 inches tall]. He looks like he is angry about the fact that he's [4 feet, 10 inches], and he has taken that anger out on any other population possible. Like, laugh at them."

The congresswoman's ridicule of Miller is part of a broader pattern of high-profile attacks by her against conservative figures.

In September, she criticized Charlie Kirk as “uneducated” and “ignorant” just days after his tragic killing. She was also among 58 Democrats who voted against a resolution honoring Kirk as a “courageous American patriot” who “lived out his faith with conviction, courage, and compassion.”
