LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: MAGA commentator Steve Bannon claimed President Donald Trump will run for a third term in the White House and emerge victorious in 2028, during his appearance on the Friday, April 11 episode of 'Real Time with Bill Maher', reported Mediaite.

The 22nd Amendment of the US Constitution prohibits an individual from running for Office thrice under any circumstances. However, it is being speculated in political circles that Trump, 78, may still move to get his name on the ballot.

The speculations have been fuelled by the incumbent himself, who even stated last month that he would welcome a challenge from the Democratic two-term former President Barack Obama in the upcoming election.

Steve Bannon's conversation with Bill Maher

While Bill Maher insisted that it was unconstitutional for Donald Trump to run for another term, Bannon proclaimed on the HBO show, "President Trump is going to run for a third term, and President Trump is going to be elected again. On the afternoon of January 20, 2029, he’s going to be President of the United States.”

It prompted the comedian to pull out a copy of the constitution and read out the 22nd Amendment to Maher, which states, "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”

“It seemed like there was no wriggle room there,” observed the comedian. “It said only two times.”

However, Bannon argued that there was a “team of people” working around the limitation, adding, "When I backed President Trump when I was running Breitbart, they said I turned Breitbart into Trump Pravda. The odds there, he polled at zero. Then, later in 2021, after he got back to Mar-a-Lago when Fox abandoned him and the Murdochs abandoned him, the Republican Party abandoned him. The odds were longer then."

"So our group, the MAGA movement and the tip of the spear of the MAGA movement, we’ve had long odds before. We’ve come out winning twice. And we’re gonna come out, we’ve got long odds on this. We’re gonna come out a third time. On the afternoon of the 20th of January, 2029, he’s gonna be president of the United States."

Internet trolls Steve Bannon

Netizens, even many conservatives, were not supportive of Steve Banner's claim of Donald Trump being reinstated in the White House again. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"I'm GOP and that's not happening," wrote a person.

"Sure, translate it into any language he likes. Trump is ineligible for a third term," stated another.

"Way too old, sorry Trump," jibed a third.

"Most trump supporters wouldn’t support this. He's making himself look silly by even talking about it," slammed a fourth.

"Just stupid. They will lose the Independent vote," claimed a fifth.
