NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Attorney of Stormy Daniels Clark Brewster, revealed that the adult film actress wore a bulletproof vest due to fears of security to and fro from the Manhattan courthouse on the days of her testimony in former president Donald Trump's hush money trial.

During a recent conversation on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, the lawyer made that shocking revelation while discussing the star witness's demeanor in court.

When asked whether Daniels was afraid now, Brewster admitted that she had a lot of fear.

"She was concerned about the security coming into New York. She wore a bulletproof vest every day until she got to the courthouse," the attorney said.

Daniels took the witness stand on May 7 and 9, testifying about her alleged sexual encounter with Trump, whom she first met at a golf tournament in 2006, and the hush money payment the former president made to her in exchange for her silence about their one-time affair.

Attorney says Stormy Daniels was 'paralyzed with fear'

"I can tell you that before she came on Sunday, she cried herself to sleep," Brewster said about Daniels' state of mind ahead of her testimony. "She was paralyzed with fear, not of taking the stand or telling her story, but what might some nut might do to her. And I'm genuinely concerned about it as well."

Brewster also talked about his client's manner during the cross-examination when she was expected to be grilled by the defense. The attorney noted that he knew "her time to shine would be on cross."

He pointed at Daniels' quick thinking, ability to seize facts, and responsiveness to questions, adding that the cross-examination by Trump attorney Susan Necheles was "right up her alley" and "dealt with it well."

The $130,000 hush money payment Trump made to Daniels is the heart of the criminal case, which the prosecution considers as the ex-president's attempt to influence the 2016 election by quashing negative stories that could affect his stand with the female voters.

The real estate mogul, who is seeking a second White House term this November, faces 34 counts for falsifying his business records to cover up the payment to Daniels he made through his ex-fixer, Michael Cohen, during the final days of the 2016 presidential campaign.

Internet shocked by the 'frightening' revelation

Netizens were shaken upon learning that Daniels wore a bulletproof vest to and fro from the hush money trial court.

One user wrote, "Stormy Daniels’ attorney says Daniels wore a bulletproof vest to and from court. This is like a mafia trial."

"That’s frightening. And I totally understand why she would feel the need to do so, which is even scarier," another remarked.

A third user added, "It's Monday -- so I'm shocked again. Is there any sane American who hasn't been utterly shocked every day since the Trump plague in 2015 was visited upon us? This is horrifying."

"Sad, but understandable. Ultra magat people are crazy," read a fourth response.

Another person wrote, "Yeah, some guy came up into a parking garage in NY and threatened her and her daughter if she testified in Trumps trial! Trumps made the country into a more dangerous place! This is mob mentality!"

"Tragic but understandable My God," someone else chimed in. An individual said, "This is so sad. This alone should be enough to lock him up."
