Suki Waterhouse admits she has never seen Robert Pattinson’s ‘Twilight’ movies
During her appearance on the podcast, host Owen Thiele asked Waterhouse whether she was "Team Edward or Team Jacob." The singer surprised him by revealing, "I've never seen it." When he asked if she genuinely had never watched the franchise, she replied, "I haven't. No. I will one day."
She still chose Team Edward, pausing briefly before remembering Pattinson's character's name and laughing, "I was like, wait, I can't get that wrong." Waterhouse explained that she has been saving the films for the right occasion and doesn't want to watch them alone.
"I'm waiting for the day that I have in bed," she said, prompting Thiele to joke that he would watch the movies with her.
She agreed, saying she would love to watch them together because, "I want commentary, I don't really wanna sit and watch." Pattinson portrayed vampire Edward Cullen in all five 'Twilight' films released between 2008 and 2012.
The franchise grossed more than $3.3 billion worldwide and helped launch his career before he went on to star in films including 'The Lighthouse', 'Good Time', 'The Batman'. and 'The Odyssey'.
Reflecting on the series in a BBC interview last year, Pattinson said, "It's insane to me that people still talk about it. I mean, Twilight was a long time ago. And the fact that people are still talking about it means we did something right."
Suki Waterhouse reflects on Robert Pattinson's support, parenthood and relationship
Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Waterhouse shared that Pattinson regularly helps her film self-tapes for acting auditions, although his ideas sometimes become far more elaborate than she expects. She recalled one audition where she wanted a simple recording against a plain background, but he envisioned a cinematic sequence beginning with her sitting in a bathroom before moving into a mirror shot.
While she decided not to submit the tape, Waterhouse joked that she could eventually edit the footage into an Instagram video set to music, adding that he "got so into it" and calling him "a director."
In a separate interview with Rolling Stone on July 10, Waterhouse revealed that her song 'Weirdo' was inspired by Pattinson. The singer explained that the track reflects the challenges of spending time apart while both pursue demanding careers following the birth of their daughter in March 2024.
The 34-year-old said the song reassures her that they will always find their way back to each other despite the distance, adding that they are "strong enough" and remain connected.
She also reflected on how becoming a mother and building a life with him transformed her perspective. She said parenthood taught her that she could be "all these things at once," gave her "more love," and helped her refine her own happiness.
Waterhouse and Pattinson were first linked in July 2018 after they were spotted showing PDA in London and made their red-carpet debut four years later at the Dior Men Fall 2023 show in Giza, Egypt. They became engaged in December 2023.
