NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sunny Hostin called out Democratic lawmakers for not walking out on President Donald Trump while he was addressing the joint session of Congress on the Wednesday, March 5, episode of 'The View'.

Representative Al Green (D-Texas) was ejected from the Congress chamber by House Speaker Mike Johnson when he raised his cane and disrupted the POTUS's speech on March 4. His protest was by far the most powerful, as others from his party stuck to holding up signs and wearing color-coordinated outfits.

Sunny Hostin says Democrats should have walked out with Rep Al Green after he was ejected

The lack of solidarity shown for Congressman Al Green by his Democratic colleagues infuriated Sunny Hostin, who said on the show, "What I saw when Representative Al Green stood up and said, you don’t have a mandate to take away Medicaid, and he was tossed out, I expected the rest of his Democratic caucus, the rest of his colleagues, to walk out with him."

"Because alone you can survive, but together you thrive. That is the energy that we need. They should have stood with him in solidarity," she continued.

"And we had Karine Jean-Pierre here on this show yesterday, and she said we have to have a sense of urgency as we move forward, and we cannot do it the way we have in the past. This is not normal. It is a five-alarm fire," Hostin stressed.

The 56-year-old insisted that it was time for the Democrats to stop playing "by the book with a party that has thrown away the rule book," as it simply could not be done.

The rebuttal to Trump's speech was provided by Rep Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich). It was praised by Hostin's co-host and former Trump aide, Alyssa Farah Griffin, who also criticized the Democrats for their manner of protest in Congress.

"I thought that Elissa Slotkin was masterful, and I think she gave Democrats the winning message that they flailed to have. But I thought the antics on the floor were not helpful. I don’t think that waving a cane is the optics that the Democrats want in this," she said.

Internet rips Sunny Hostin and her 'The View' co-hosts over their opinion on Democratic protests

Conservatives reacting to Sunny Hostin's thoughts on Donald Trump's joint address and Al Green's protest slammed her for wishing Democrats had walked out on the president during his speech.

One wrote, "Dems like her won Trump the election," and another sarcastically said, "Sunny should run for office...that way she can show everyone how it's done."

"Can they just be taken off air already?" asked a person about the show.

"These people are the dumbest folks on the planet," another person wrote, while one more chided, "Please please continue this Sunny! Everyone sees the true cloudy, miserable, & stormy person you are. Walking out on accomplishment is what you Dems do BEST!"
