Sydney Sweeney says it's 'more fun' watching others react to her soap

The 'Euphoria' star spoke about the release during the premiere of her new film 'Echo Valley' at AMC Lincoln Square on June 4 in New York City.

While speaking to People at the premiere, Sweeney kept her response short when asked about the backlash and buzz.

“I mean, honestly though,” said the 27-year-old when told some fans supported the idea just because it could make men shower more often.

She later elaborated on the red carpet in an interview with E! News, saying, “I think that it's more fun to see everybody else talk about it.”

Sweeney also revealed that the creative idea behind the soap came from her, adding, “I pitched it.”

The soap was officially introduced in a joint Instagram post with Dr. Squatch on May 29.

“You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad … so we kept it. Introducing Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater. Available on 6/6/25 at drsquatch.com,” the caption read.

Sydney Sweeney says the soap is ‘weird in the best way’

The handmade soap combines a hint of Sydney Sweeney’s bathwater with scents of pine, Douglas fir, and earthy moss.

Only 5,000 bars of the product have been produced and will be available for purchase starting June 6 while supplies last.

In the official press release, Sweeney said, “When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap.”

She added, “It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love."

"Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural," she concluded, as per People.

“It’s so damn weird BUT SO DAMN CLEVER,” one person commented on Instagram. “Sydney Sweeney s****s. Mediocre actress at best,” another wrote.

A critic on TikTok wrote, “Anyone who actually wants that soap is a virgin living in their mom's basement.” Another said, “Gross and gross. Get over yourself. Just gross.”

“It’s disappointing,” one voiced, whereas someone else added, “I mean it would be funny if it was a joke. But it’s real that’s the problem 😳.”

Still, fans were defending the quirky campaign. “I can’t be the only one who doesn’t find it that serious. Like why do y’all care so much 😂,” one user wrote.

Another enthusiastically commented, “Guilty as charged if I'm able to get one 👏🔥😮😍!”
