LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sydney Sweeney reportedly took matters into her own hands as the actress appeared to dispel rumors that claim she will work alongside Johnny Depp in 'Day Drinker'.

The 'Euphoria' star took to X (formerly Twitter) to write, "woke up to ✨rumors✨ anyways go see @ImmaculateMovie in theaters this weekend!" She utilized the opportunity to promote her new horror flick 'Immaculate', which premiered on March 22.

In an X post, Discussing Film stated, "A representative for Sydney Sweeney has confirmed with us that she will not be starring in ‘DAY DRINKER’ alongside Johnny Depp, despite recent reports."

The rumor mill started rolling after the film industry insider Jeff Sneider claimed that Sweeney had been cast in Marc Webb's supernatural thriller 'Day Drinker' beside Depp, as per TMZ.

Sneider added that Zach Dean, known for 'Deadfall' and 'Fast X' was working on a script, which will showcase "love, friendship, and revenge."

Despite Sweeney and her rep refuting the claims, Sneider insists that the information he provided was true.

On X, he shared, "After ignoring calls on Friday, her reps sure are working overtime on a holiday weekend. They said I 'created a mess.' Well, guess what? Totally fake stories don’t create messes… REAL stories do. Sorry, I ruined the big Cannes announcement! Maybe call back next time?"

If there's any truth to Sneider's claims, then the 'Anyone But You' actress would be the first A-list, mainstream young star to work with Depp since the whole Amber Heard fiasco.
