Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes hug at US Open after NFL season opener game gives rise to feud rumors

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes have dispelled the rumors about their feud by attending the US Open together with their partners, enjoying a day of tennis.

On Sunday, September 8, Swift and Brittany reunited at New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium for the men's singles final of the annual tennis tournament. 

Arthur Ashe Stadium is part of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center located in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City.

Swift, 34, attended the event with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is also 34, following a wedding they attended together on Saturday, September 7. They met up with Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany at the event.

At one moment, Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes shared a warm embrace during the star-studded event, PEOPLE reported.

Recently, they both attended the Chiefs' home opener for the 2024-2025 NFL season, where Kansas City triumphed over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5.

At that time, various reports indicated that the duo, known for watching Kansas City Chiefs games together, avoided sitting next to each other during the game, sparking speculation of a possible rift.

Swift was seen alongside Kelce, Brittany, and Patrick, 28, as the group enjoyed the US Open match between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz

 

On their Sunday outing, Swift donned a red and white gingham sundress paired with cat-eye sunglasses, while Kelce opted for a cream-colored outfit topped with a Gucci bucket hat. Brittany chose a Gucci ensemble complemented by sunglasses, and Patrick sported a black Prada zip-up shirt.

Photographs from the sports event capture the two couples engaged in conversation, and at one moment, they are even seen smiling and posing for a group picture.

At the first Kansas City Chiefs game of the NFL season, Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes watched the game from separate suites. While Swift was seated next to Ed Kelce, Brittany sat with family in another suite.

Since the two were previously photographed many times watching the Chiefs' games from the same booth, this sudden change in seating sparked rumors about a feud. 

The game came at the same time when Brittany was in the news for slamming Swifties for targeting her for supporting Donald Trump. 

People began speculating that Swift allegedly did not sit next to Brittany because she professed her support for Trump which may have created trouble in paradise.

Swift has not come out in support of any candidate so far in the 2024 presidential race, but has slammed Trump in the past for “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism.”

She also did not comment on Brittany's support of Trump but insiders from the singer's camp have made it clear that there were no issues between the two and that the two sat separately because their priorities were different at that time.

Taylor Swift and Tarvis Kelce's eventful week

The recent reunion between the couples occurred not long after Brittany Mahomes, who is expecting her third child, showcased her 3-year-old daughter Sterling Skye's charming outfit during the season's opening game at Arrowhead Stadium. The couple also has a 21-month-old son named Patrick "Bronze".

 

Swift attended Thursday's game alongside Kelce's parents, Ed and Donna, where they all rooted for the Chiefs. Following a significant play by Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, Swift and Donna shared an embrace.

Kelce and Swift have had a hectic few days, starting with the Kansas City home opener on Thursday, followed by a pizza date at Brooklyn's popular Lucali on Friday, and culminating with the Saturday wedding of model Karen Elson and Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster.

 

Swift was seen on Saturday sporting the "TNT" bracelet that Kelce had specially crafted for her. This bracelet showcases their initials in 14K yellow gold, embellished with lab-created diamonds.

The 'Lover' singer donned a Zimmermann Halliday Scallop Midi Dress, featuring side cutouts for her wedding attire, whereas Kelce chose a sleek all-black outfit complemented by his hair slicked back.

Fans support Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes' friendship

As soon as the photos of Taylor Swift hugging Brittany Mahomes went viral, social media users, especially Swifties, couldn't keep calm.
