Taylor Swift and Katy Perry move beyond their feud and now 'talk all the time and support each other'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have reportedly moved past their long-standing feud and have become strong support systems for each other.
The resolution of the stars' feud has also brought relief to their friends, as reported by RadarOnline.com.
Reports suggest that a friendly vibe was evident between Swift and the 'Dark Horse' singer when Swift danced and sang along to Perry's 'California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream' during her performance at the MTV VMAs on September 11.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have evolved from feud to friendship
Taylor Swift also showed support for Katy Perry when Perry, while accepting the Video Vanguard Award, credited the LGBTQ+ community for teaching her “that you can be both kind and c**t,” as per People.
Additionally, Katy Perry made an appearance during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney, Australia earlier this year.
A source has now revealed, “Just a few years ago, friends couldn't even mention Katy's name to Taylor, and vice versa, but they have both grown up a lot and realize their feud was silly and overblown.”
“Now they talk all the time and support each other. Never again will Katy step on Taylor's toes, and Taylor will talk to Katy first if she has a grievance, rather than let it stew,” they noted.
The tipster disclosed, “They're in a better place now. They're older, wiser, happy in their relationships, and think it's a waste of time to carry grudges.”
“And their friends are so relieved. Now they can hang out with Tay-Tay and Katy and not have to suffer repercussions,” they added.
How did the feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry start?
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry's feud reportedly began in 2014 when Perry allegedly tried to convince some of Swift's dancers to join her.
Instead of confronting Perry directly, Swift responded by writing the song 'Bad Blood', which was seen as an attack on her.
The lyrics of the song include: “Now we got problems And I don't think we can solve 'em You made a really deep cut And baby, now we got bad blood (hey!) Did you have to do this? I was thinking that you could be trusted Did you have to ruin What was shining? Now it's all rusted Did you have to hit me Where I'm weak? Baby, I couldn't breathe And rub it in so deep Salt in the wound like you're laughing right at me.”
The pop sensation reportedly revealed in an interview that the song was about another singer who "basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour" and "tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."
Swift also added, "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows, say something, and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
Later in an interview, Perry addressed the issue, stating, “Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it.”
“It was a full shutdown, and then she writes a song about me, and I'm like, ‘Okay, cool, cool, cool, that's how you want to deal with it? Karma!’” she added.
