Brittany Mahomes shares cryptic post amid Taylor Swift feud rumors and Trump endorsement backlash
BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA: With political tensions intensifying in the United States as the November election nears, Brittany Mahomes finds herself in an awkward position, caught between her friendship with pop star Taylor Swift and her political affiliation for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
As speculations about this potential rift swirls, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted a cryptic message to her Instagram story.
Brittany Mahomes hints at rising above political divide in cryptic post
Without directly addressing the rumors, Brittany Mahomes shared a quote from another account, which read: “Be the reason why people believe in beautiful souls, kind hearts, and good energy. Never stop being a good person.”
While she didn't explicitly mention Taylor Swift or the election, the post seemed well-timed, hinting at her desire to rise above the growing political divide.
Despite their differing political views, sources close to the situation insist that Mahomes and Swift remain on good terms.
According to Daily Mail, the two have made a “pact” to avoid discussing politics, respecting each other’s opinions.
There is reportedly "no bad blood" between the two friends, even as speculation of a wedge has persisted.
The tension became public in mid-September when Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, sparking a series of reactions.
Former president Trump responded by taking to his Truth Social account with an all-caps post declaring, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
Swift’s endorsement, meanwhile, gained significant traction, racking up over 11 million likes on Instagram and driving more than 330,000 visits to Vote.gov, a voter registration site she had linked.
Trump had taken shots at Swift before, but his most recent comment included a surprising comparison, stating, “I like Mrs Mahomes much better,” referring to Brittany.
This statement further fueled rumors, especially after Brittany had “liked” a post from Trump’s campaign on Instagram.
Her subtle social media endorsement reportedly drew reactions from both supporters and critics, deepening the curiosity about her relationship with Swift.
Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes fallout rumors swirl
Rumors of a fallout gained momentum as Taylor Swift continued to appear at Kansas City Chiefs games, but without Brittany Mahomes by her side in the luxury box.
Yet, the two friends have been spotted together at various events, including Patrick Mahomes’ 29th birthday party and the US Open men’s singles final earlier in September, suggesting their friendship remains intact.
The political landscape in the US has been particularly heated, with two assassination attempts targeting Donald Trump.
In July, Trump was injured after a bullet grazed his ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Tragically, a rallygoes, 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, was killed.
The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was later taken down by Secret Service agents.
Another attempt in September was thwarted when Ryan Wesley Routh was arrested outside Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club. Fortunately, the former president was unharmed in both incidents.
As for Taylor Swift, she has missed two Kansas City Chiefs games recently, including Week 3’s Sunday Night Football in Atlanta and Week 4’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
So far, she’s only attended Chiefs home games, leaving fans wondering if she will make an appearance at Arrowhead Stadium when the Chiefs take on the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
