LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megyn Kelly believes Donald Trump's recent vitriolic comments about Taylor Swift are a politically savvy strategy.

The former Fox News host was responding to a viewer's critique during the Thursday, September 26, episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show', where the individual described Trump’s all-caps declaration on Truth Social, “I hate Taylor Swift!” as “childish and petty".

Megyn Kelly, however, disagreed with the viewer. She asserted, “You could argue it was actually smart of Trump to attack her. Just telegraph to the MAGA faithful—or adjacent—who hadn’t heard about the endorsement that Taylor sucks. We don’t like Taylor.”

Trump's outburst came shortly after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris immediately following a presidential debate on September 10, which sparked a strong reaction from many in the MAGA community, including Kelly herself.

Her own response at the time was “F you, Taylor Swift."

During the September 11 episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show', Kelly continued her tirade, criticizing both Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, as “the epitomes of elite snobs".

She further said, “They both have gazillions of dollars. She doesn’t care what happens to these kids, just like he doesn’t give a s**t what happens to all the young men who take the Pfizer booster he’s been pushing on them.”

Kelly emphasized that Republicans should not second-guess Trump's instincts regarding his branding and marketing strategies.

She noted, “People are quick to judge Trump’s marketing, brand, and branding instincts, and that is the one area where you really shouldn’t question him,” defending his choice to confront entertainers with differing political views.

Additionally, Megyn Kelly had earlier warned Taylor Swift about the potential consequences of her political endorsement, declaring, “You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor; hope you enjoyed them while you had them.”

Trump similarly remarked that Swift would “pay a price in the marketplace” for her support of Harris.

According to Variety, Swift, while endorsing Harris, praised the Democratic presidential nominee's choice of Tim Walz as her running mate. Swift said she was “so heartened and impressed” by his commitment to LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s rights.

This comment provoked a furious response from Kelly, who dismissed Swift’s reasoning and proclaimed, “I’m allowed to criticize Taylor Swift, and I don’t give a s**t who gets upset. This is disgusting. If she wants to vote Harris-Walz, she can do it all she wants but to say the reason she is doing it is because of Tim Walz’s stance on LGBTQ… F you, Taylor Swift.”
