Insider reveals Taylor Swift's recent calls with Kamala Harris
An insider reported that President Joe Biden's team was eager for the singer's support to bolster his wavering bid for a second term before the Democrats discontinued his campaign in July and shifted their support to Kamala Harris.
Taylor, who supported Biden in 2020, is currently on a break before her North American tour next month. She seized the moment to share an endorsement on Instagram shortly after the heated debate on Tuesday, September 10 night in Philadelphia.
"She felt she needed to speak out as the election process is getting more intense," the well-informed source informed The US Sun. "The time just felt right."
The insider confirmed that Taylor has spoken to Harris "a couple of times on the phone" recently and is fully aware of the significance of the lead-up to polling day on November 5 for every American.
"Taylor is very aware of the problems, issues, and struggles that many people go through in the country," continued the source. "She thinks Kamala is the only option to help create a better society and America for everyone."
"It is very important for her to voice her opinion and show support for who she thinks will be best for the country, and she is very proud and excited for Kamala Harris to have the possibility to become the next president and that woman can be in this position," said the source.
"Taylor is an artist that wants to be engaged socially, to speak about causes that she values a lot and that has a lot that she likes on Kamala Harris's vision and perspectives for America."
Taylor Swift speaks out on AI misinformation and endorses Kamala Harris
As the White House race heats up, the nation awaits a statement from Taylor Swift on the election, following her public endorsement of President Joe Biden in the previous election.
After Tuesday night's significant event, Swift posted a detailed statement on her Instagram, which boasts over 283 million followers, expressing her support for Kamala Harris and vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz.
Citing the recent debate, she began her post, “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”

In her post, she elaborated on her reasons for selecting the timing to clarify her political position. She disclosed her discomfort with the internet's use of her AI likenesses to endorse Trump.
She referenced the time in her writing, “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
Swift continued to speak boldly, articulating her thoughts without reservation, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” she explained.
She also gave a shout-out to Walz, stating, “I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story,” noted the songstress.
“With love and hope,” she concluded while signing, “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”
