Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to not get engaged soon as constant speculation has 'devalued its sanctity'
LOS ANGELS, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are not running to the altar - or getting engaged anytime soon.
Recently, a source close to the lovebirds revealed that constant speculations from fans about their engagement and marriage have seemingly “devalued” their relationship milestones.
The source shared that the continuous probe from fans about their nuptials has reportedly diminished the sanctitude of marriage for them.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have postponed the idea of an engagement
Taylor Swift and her Kansas City Chiefs tight end beau made the grand debut of their romance last year in September when the Grammy-winning singer went to cheer for Kelce during his team’s match with Chicago Bears.
Though they hard launched their romance in September, with the billionaire songstress subsequently confirming her romance during the ‘Person of the Year’ interview with TIME, they initially met in July.
The source speaking to Daily Mail, revealed that the couple initially planned to get engaged and subsequently tie the knot as part of their future, but the excessive fanfare has apparently “devalued” them.
The source shared, “Since the beginning of their relationship everyone has talked about them getting engaged and married.”
“People are so diehard to see Taylor with a ring on her finger and are trying to manifest and will it to happen,” added the source before quizzing, “But imagine if you were them. How does Travis even propose at this point?”
The source, however, confirmed that marriage is still on the cards, but, just not now.
“Of course, they have discussed a future together and marriage is a part of that,” claimed the source, before adding, “But it feels like the non-stop speculation and chatter about their engagement and wedding somehow devalues the sanctity of it.”
The ‘Cruel Summer’ singer and Travis Kelce’s relationship has often come under the speculations of the fans who are also the greatest champions of their relationship.
However, recently, the internet was abuzz with a fake contact that circulated online. The contract -- which has since been dismissed -- revealed September 28 as the breakup date of Kelce and Swift.
The leaked contract allegedly prepared on the letterhead of his US PR firm, Full Scope, recently did the rounds of the internet. However, to the relief of their countless fans, Kelce’s representatives quickly dismissed the rumors of their breakup and branded the contract as falsehood.
A source close to Swift even shared with Daily Mail, "Taylor was unbothered and quite amused by this," before adding, "She usually pays these things no mind at all, but this was some hilarious AI realness. It isn’t even worth an actual reaction from her or her team."
The source continued, "She and Travis had a good laugh over it and his camp only got lawyers involved because it is his PR firm listed on the document." and added, "After learning that their 'breakup date' is coming up so soon – September 28 – they now need to plan something super special and fun on that day to commemorate."
Later, a spokesperson for Full Scope also claimed the contract to be "entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency."
They even left behind the 'contract' drama behind while packing PDA during an appearance at the Flushing Meadows for the US Open.
Internet shares their opinion of Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce's relationship
The fans, meanwhile, opined that it was not the fans' fixation that apparently ruined the "authenticity" of their relationship. Some even mentioned the 'contract' that became an Internet rage a few weeks ago that alleged a contract relationship between the football star and the pop diva.
One of the readers commented online, "Is an engagement supposed to "feel authentic" to outsiders? Is it not about the two people involved? If anything this merely confirms what many suspect - it's all for show, nothing real about it."
"And also an engagement isn't in the contract," reminded another skeptical fan.
Someone else hypothesized, "Absolutely no one buys it with these two anymore and it’s kind of funny. I think they’re going to call it quits mid-season now."
Someone else harped on Swift singing about her failed past relationships, and noted, "Taylor needs fresh material for her next album and Travis needs income after his football career is over. It’s a win win, not LOVE."
"I would argue, if it’s a REAL relationship you wouldn’t care about public opinion. But if it’s A FAKE relationship, that’s a different story…," said another netizen sardonically.
Another user similarly referenced the rumored contract, saying, "Cue the breakup announcement. Right on schedule as predicted. “The prying eyes were too much”."
Someone else questioned, "So parading in front of the paps every moment they’re together doesn’t “devalue” the relationship? Instead it’s fans’ speculation about a next step? These two are hilariously ridiculous."
"Lol. PR relationship, that's why," noted someone else.
Another fan chimed in, "Nope, the contract has devalued everything."
