The streaming agency announced, “'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT' became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day, and Taylor Swift became the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.”

Taylor Swift's 2 am surprise announcing the double album
'The Tortured Poets Department’ was released in the early hours of Friday, surprising fans with a double album format and 15 additional songs adding to the already listed 16.
Swift shared the news in an early morning Instagram post, writing, “It’s a 2 am surprise: 'The Tortured Poets Department' is a secret DOUBLE album.”
She added, “I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second instalment of 'TTPD: The Anthology.' 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”

Swift already held the Spotify record for the most streamed album in a single day and the most streamed artist in a single day when her album 'Midnights' was released in October 2022.
"'The Tortured Poets Department' broke the record for biggest pop album of all time by first-day streams on Apple Music," the musical platform posted.
It also became the most streamed album on Amazon Music ever on its first day, according to NBC.
