Taylor Swift's game appearances drive NFL's media surge
According to MarketWatch, between September 2023 and January 2024, Taylor Swift is said to have generated a staggering $366,753,290 in total brand value for the NFL, Unilad reported.
The media exposure from Swift's presence at games has been a boon for the league, with her appearances garnering attention from not only sports outlets but also entertainment media, which traditionally focus less on football.
Eric Smallwood, president of Apex Marketing Group, explained, "The ‘Swift Effect’ and the corresponding media exposure continued for the NFL and the Chiefs before the start of the 2024 NFL season."
He added, "The media blitz continued as the Chiefs kept winning games and were featured on national broadcasts, leading into the playoffs and now the Super Bowl."
This economic boost didn’t stop at the initial figures. From the day after the 2024 AFC Championship through January 27, Swift's brand value for the NFL was estimated to reach $634,304,163. Combined, these two figures surpass an impressive $1 billion.
Smallwood further emphasized how Swift’s media presence has benefitted both the Chiefs and the NFL: "Taylor was visible at games, and those appearances garnered media attention from sports-media outlets and those entertainment media outlets not normally covering the NFL."
With the Super Bowl just around the corner, fans are eagerly speculating if Kelce might take his relationship with Swift to the next level. When asked during a press conference whether he planned to propose at the big game, Kelce quipped, “A Super Bowl ring? Next question.”

A third commented, "But it's not rigged no. What a joke. The NFL sees this money and they've made sure the Chiefs win every game they possibly could no matter what so they could keep raking in money. The moment they seen how much money this brought in, it was over."
