LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy made headlines after sharing a handwritten note from Taylor Swift, thanking him for his support.

The note, delivered during her Miami show on the Eras Tour, has sparked widespread fan reactions - not for its content, but for Swift’s signature and penmanship.

The note, delivered to Portnoy during Taylor Swift’s Miami show as part of her blockbuster Eras Tour, was a personal thank-you for his public defense of her last month. Swift had been under fire on social media for her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.

In the note, the grammy winning artist wrote, “Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight! I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t.”

Despite her busy tour schedule, Swift took the time to pen the letter, which was delivered to Portnoy by her brother, Austin Swift. The note featured a green seal embossed with her signature number, 13, a personal lucky charm the 'Blank Space' singer often references in her work.

Taylor Swift's decision to publicly endorse the Democratic ticket of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in the 2024 election sparked controversy, particularly among her more conservative fans.

In a social media post, the 'Cruel Summer' songstress outlined her reasons for backing the Democratic presidential candidate, citing her commitment to “fighting for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift wrote in her endorsement, which came after Harris debated Republican candidate Donald Trump.

The backlash the singer faced was swift and intense, with many criticizing her for getting involved in politics. However, Portnoy, a well-known Trump supporter, quickly came to her defense.

“As the king of the Swifties, people are asking me what I think of her Kamala endorsement. I don’t care at all. People can vote for whoever they want in this country. How somebody votes will never change my opinion of a person. I’m voting the other way, but to each their own,” he said.

Fans react to Taylor Swift’s handwritten note to Dave Portnoy

While Taylor Swift’s letter was a touching gesture, fans immediately zeroed in on her handwriting. Social media quickly lit up with comments about the legibility — or lack thereof — of her signature and penmanship.

"This is amazing but low key she has terrible hand writing," commented a user.

"No way this is real.. Dave must be in heaven rn 😂," said a second.

"I didnt think anyone could have worse handwriting than me till I saw this," commented a third.

"Classy. Even though they are politically different. We can still have each others backs!" read a comment.

"That signature is wild lol," penned a user.

"Wow I would have thought Taylor would have beautiful handwriting 😂😂," mocked a user.

"I’m sorry but the signature isn’t Taylor’s lol," chimed another.

"I’m not a swiftie but I am a davie so love this for him🫶🏼," gushed a fan.
