Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce's wedding hit by drama as MSG workers escorted over alleged photo breach
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Singer Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce's lavish Madison Square Garden wedding was marked by extraordinary security measures, strict privacy protocols, and a star-studded celebration.
However, reports that emerged after the ceremony revealed that several union workers were removed from the venue over alleged unauthorized photos, while new details about the couple's wedding décor and ceremony have also surfaced.
Union workers sanctioned over wedding security breach
According to Page Six, at least four union workers were escorted out of Madison Square Garden, one day before Swift and Kelce's wedding. One source claimed two stagehands were removed for taking pictures, while another source said the total number was four.
Although TMZ reported that some workers were fired for breaching non-disclosure agreements, Page Six stated they were not dismissed entirely. A source explained that because the workers are employed by the union rather than Madison Square Garden, any termination would have to go through arbitration.
Instead, they will face sanctions and will no longer be permitted to work at the venue, though they may continue working at other venues within the MSG conglomerate.
In another development, Bloomberg News reporter Myles Miller corroborated TMZ's report that law enforcement personnel had their phones confiscated before entering the venue.
He said everyone entering the building was required to surrender their phones and that no one was permitted inside the arena ahead of the wedding.
Security remained extremely tight in the days leading up to the ceremony. It was previously reported that Madison Square Garden's corporate employees were barred from entering the arena during the week of the wedding without being given a reason.
Many of the approximately 1,000 wedding guests were also required to sign non-disclosure agreements prohibiting them from sharing details of the ceremony.
However, the couple's closest friends and family were not asked to sign NDAs, with a source saying protecting the couple's privacy had always come naturally to those in their inner circle.
Taylor Swift wedding decor and ceremony revealed
Despite the strict security, leaked video obtained by the Daily Mail showed previously unseen details from inside the wedding venue.
The footage revealed a peach-and-white hallway decorated with never-before-seen photographs of Swift and Kelce throughout their relationship, alongside a large "T&T" monogram matching the handkerchief keepsakes given to guests.
According to the outlet, singer Candi Staton's anthem 'Young Hearts Run Free' played in the background. The area where the couple exchanged vows had been transformed into an enchanted garden featuring trees and emerald drapery.
After the ceremony, guests entered the reception through hidden doors behind the altar. One attendee said guests headed into the reception area after the vows to continue the celebration.
Following the event, workers began dismantling the elaborate setup, including wooden décor featuring two cream-colored "T"s, trees, a large gazebo, orange armchairs, cocktail tables, green chairs, a chest containing games, and several arcade games.
One employee said the cleanup would continue for 24 hours. On 'Good Morning America,' former White House aide George Stephanopoulos shared that the couple had "little books" at the altar, while co-host Robin Roberts revealed they exchanged their own vows.
