Taylor Swift's ex Joe Alwyn makes rare comment about relationship with singer whom he dated for six years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift's former boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, has opened up about their relationship nearly two years after their break up.
In an interview with The Guardian, while speaking about his latest film, 'The Brutalist', the 33-year-old actor touched upon his six-year relationship with the 'Lover' singer that ended in 2023.

When asked if he was concerned "that his relationship with Swift would overshadow his career?" Joe Alwyn said, "I have tried just to focus on controlling what I can control."
"And, right from the beginning, I tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course. So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it," the ' Conversations with Friends' star explained.
"If you don't, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behavior, you're living from the outside in. And then you're pretty f**ked," the actor expressed.

Also, regarding moving on in life, Joe Alwyn mentioned that he’s already done that and now "that’s something for other people to do."
"We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel," the ‘Kinds of Kindness’ star added.
The English actor and Swift were reportedly in a relationship from 2016 to 2023. Reports linking them first emerged in 2017, with sources saying that they had been together for a few months.
On their split, an insider said, as reported by Elle, "They've had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together."
Another tipster shared, "They had plenty in common and fell in love in a safe bubble while she was retreating from the world during Reputation. Then the pandemic hit, and they were locked down together and able to continue growing their relationship in this insulated way. But he didn't really ‘know’ her yet outside of that bubble."

Joe Alwyn broke his silence about their split during an interview with The Sunday Times Style Magazine in June 2024. He told the outlet, "I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years."
Noting that breakup "is a hard thing to navigate," the actor said, "What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in."
