Teri Hatcher reveals connection with late co-star Matthew Perry after being banned from dating app
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Teri Hatcher, who was banned from a dating app in 2023, took solace in 'Friends' star Matthew Perry, who had gone through a similar ordeal.
In a conversation with Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson on 'This Morning', Hatcher revealed that she had previously been blocked from the dating app Hinge, which eventually helped her get in touch with Perry.

The former 'Desperate Housewives' star, 59, made an appearance on 'This Morning' on Monday, August 12, to discuss the 15th anniversary of 'Coraline'.
"I was sort of saying to the universe I'm open and that even if it doesn't work I'm doing a gesture to vulnerability," Hatcher remarked discussing her latest dating difficulties and her choice to join Hinge.
According to Daily Mail, the actress, who has been married twice, also shared the details of her dating disaster, which involved being banned from the app Hinge, and how Perry texted her about it before his untimely death.
During the show, Hatcher was questioned about how she got banned from Hinge and how the incident helped her become close to the late 'Fools Rush In' star.
The 'Coraline' star revealed that dating app Hinge kicked her off the site because they believed she was a random fan impersonating her, as reported by OK! Magazine.
"When you get kicked off it's not that you get an email, you just get blocked. And the only recourse I had was to go on Twitter and ask Hinge through that. So they got back to me and put me back on," she said.
Hatcher added: "There's no customer service, there's nothing, so at the time I was on Twitter, but not anymore. At the time, I went on Twitter and I went: 'Hey Hinge, not sure what happened but you took my money and kicked me off the app. I don't know what this is'."
Co-host Josie Gibson mentioned that Perry—who died in October 2023—had a similar experience. Hatcher then disclosed that the two had indeed spoken about their problems with dating apps.
"So he and I kept in touch periodically after I got to work with him in 'The Odd Couple', years ago. And that was really funny," she remarked.
The 'Desperate Housewives' alum continued: "We would kind of check-in once or twice a year. We had that kind of text relationship so when I tweeted, he immediately tweeted me saying: 'I got kicked off of Hinge too, what the h**k are both of us doing on Hinge, anyway?'"
The trio specifically talked about Hatcher's role in the 2009 movie 'Coraline', which is getting a 3D remastering to mark its 15th anniversary and will be showing in theaters across the globe.
