SALEM, NEW HAMPSHIRE: A Donald Trump supporter interrupted Nikki Haley's address at a rally in New Hampshire on Monday, January 22, throwing her the question, "Will you marry me?"

The 52-year-old Republican presidential hopeful was discussing the issues at stake relating to the upcoming election with her supporters at the Artisan Hotel in Salem on the eve of the New Hampshire primary when a man at random sent her the proposal, prompting her to chuckle.

Although Haley gave the impression that she would pay heed to the heckler's humorous marriage proposal, the former South Carolina Governor quickly knocked it down when she found out that the person intended to vote for her direct rival, Trump, in the coming primary.

How did the interaction between Haley and the heckler turn out?

"Nikki! Will you marry me?" yelled the heckler, interjecting Haley’s speech at a campaign stop in Salem.

The former South Carolina governor, who is married to Major Michael Haley responded to the proposal by asking, "Are you going to vote for me?"

However, to her dismay, after a brief pause, the man responded, "I'm voting for Trump," eliciting jeers from his fellow rallygoers.

Unimpressed with the heckler's retort, Haley remarked, "Oh, get out of here!"

The incident follows a recent occurrence where a group of protestors were escorted out of one of her campaign rallies in Nashua, over the past weekend, according to RadarOnline.com.

Around five climate protestors disrupted the former UN ambassador's rally on January 20 by chanting and accusing Haley of being a "climate criminal."

The former South Carolina Governor subsequently defended the protestors after they were quickly removed from the campaign rally venue, by invoking her husband’s background of serving in the US military.

She noted, "My husband and other military men and women sacrifice for us every day for her to be able to do that."

Per the New York Post, Haley maintained in an interview with Fox News on the eve of the New Hampshire primary election that the keys to the kingdom in this presidential election would go to the one willing to move "slow and steady."

She asserted, "At some point, y’all are gonna have to realize that I won this race and you’re going to have to accept when I say I told you so. It is slow and steady wins the race."

Haley’s performance in the New Hampshire GOP primary on Tuesday, January 23, was satisfactory, to say the least.

She came second to Trump with 43.1% of the votes. On the other hand, the ex-POTUS was able to secure 54.6% of the primary votes, moving closer to his hope of achieving the third consecutive presidential nomination for the GOP.

Internet reacts to pro-Trump heckler throwing a marriage proposal at Nikki Haley

After the exchange between the pro-Trump heckler and Haley came to light, netizens commented with their thoughts. While some found it funny, others resorted to ridiculing the presidential hopeful.

One remarked, "I want to buy that guy a (drink)," and another added, "He failed the test."

A person opined, "Hecklers are sadly part of the process," while someone else recalled, "This reminds me of that guy who yelled Pepe! at Hillary in 2016 Perfect timing!"

An individual noted, "Come on now y’all. That’s funny. Grow up." "Those people are probably just there listening to watch she has to say for the free stuff," stated another one about Haley's rally attendees.

One more wrote, "She needs to drop out!" "How is she even a candidate?" asked a netizen.
